    • So what do we think of Huff so far?

Fair enough.

I was just kind of puzzled because while several players appear to be taking steps back, Belt is looking better, albeit a little at a time and he didn't really have anywhere to go but up but still.

Yeah, frustrating game for sure, from Pagan's misplay of the first hit in the game to a ton of missed opportunities, with a couple bad calls by the ump mixed in just to twist the knife. Eh, I'm betting Bumgarner mows 'em down tomorrow.

Yeah I'm really getting worried that we're getting last year's Huff. Not sure why we should expect anything else to be honest. Unless you buy that whole "every other year" line.

I hope Belt can show some of his potential because I'm afraid it's going to be crucial to the success of this team if Huff continues to struggle.

Forget Huff. Forget Belt. They're both terrible. Huff should be DFA'd, he'd through. Belt is just not a major league player. Sometimes a guy will look great in college and the minors, but for whatever reason just doesn't pan out. It's not like this hasn't happened to the Giants before.

My biggest concern is the outfield. It's terrible any way you slice it. Nate is okay in RF, but that's about it. I'm angry at the FO. They had a whole off season to come up with something after they got rid of Rowand,Torres and Cody and this was the best the could do?

I think he's a gamer who plays the game the right way and provides veteran leadership.

But seriously, I wouldn't give up on him just yet. Could be just a bad start. If he's still playing this way mid-May, I'll be making DFA Huff threads.

"Yeah, really. What to do? They all <suck. Belt is the worst though, that's just a fact (currently)."

That could change either way in one game.

What? You're joking, I hope. Pitchers have him figured out. I don't think he needs more time in the minors, I just think he'll never be ready.

I think that both he and belt are hurting us. I think we are better off with an outfield of Cabrera, Pagan, Schierholtz. Huff, Belt and Pill should be the ones fighting for 1B playing time on days Posey will not be playing over there.

I think the time might be better served given to Belt because we need to know wha we have in him.

i was at the game tonight and the natives were restless. heard boos every at bat for huff.

worse still, he just gave up on two balls in LF that had the old guys infront of my screaming epitaphs.

they have a new cheer for him, "aubrey aubrey aubrey, and then they shout out huff, huff, huff.

by the end of the game we had them going, "out out out".

the lineup, if you can believe it, is almost as anemic as last years.

if huff continues as he did in 2011 and if belt doesnt come on strong down the line we are looking at a vast wasteland in the 5-8 holes.

and milkey has cooled off considerably at 0 for his last 12.

posey did well with 3 soft singles but has shown little pop since the lone homerun, and pablo never hit the ball out of the infield, his only hit an infiled single that hit the bag. he looks terrible at the plate.

huff came up with the bases juiced and barely got a sac fly in the first, what we really needed was a single or double there. he also walked later with runners in scoring position and worked one of two walks.

in no at bat did he even give the appearance of being aggressive and was more than willing to take a pass and let belt have a chance. he got a well deserved pass in 2011, but he's done as a middle of the order guy in the N.L. As long as hes on the team and looks like herman munster in left field he will block belt.

and this guy is our 4-5 hitter?

he also had an awful may, june, july, august, and september...his numbers were almost as bad as rowands and those were atrocious at best. stick a fork in huff he's done.
