The contrasting remarks from Farrell and Cecil are great. It's amazing how Cecil tries to justify his performance. Very positive to see the manager taking a tougher stand this year. We have too many delusional players on this team.

The sense of entitlement is a result of the culture of mediocrity from this organization. It's been like this in my whole time following this team. Fortunately I sense that this is finally changing.

"I wish people wouldn't lump Cecil and Lind together. Lind has had a great season...and through his struggles the last couple years has maintained his power."

What numbers are you looking at when you say he has maintained his power? His XBH's have fallen from 81 to 58 to 42 since 2009.

He was "clicking on all cylinders." What boxscore were you looking at?

"cecil's home is in somebody's bullpen"

anyone in the home run derby this summer would be insane not to ask Cecil to pitch to them...

sure... if the situation is that you want to give up some runs to let the other team back in the game. that would be a fitting role. he has less than mediocre speed with no control. I dont see him not getting crushed in any role.

if cecil cant learn to hit corners consistently, he is done. 19 year old AA hitters crush 85 MPH center cut fastballs.

Downs can ramp it up past 86 mph.

I wouldn't say he will never be any good.... but he has to find command or a knuckle ball.

"Why does everyone love Jenkins all of a sudden?"

What I like about Jenkins is so similar to what I said several years ago about Richmond...pitch the living <shit out of him, who cares about his future.

Amen. This might be the ONLY window Jenkins gets.
