CC has thrown a MASSIVE amount of pitches every season since 2006, and every year he seems to become tired by the end of the year. In 2009, the yankees had a big enough lead that in september he pitched on 6 days rest, which kept him fresh and it showed in his Sparkling post-season. This season with less than 2 months to go, he could finish the season with 40 innings less than each of the past 5 seasons.

His last start was one of his best, a complete game SO, 10 K's, and only 3 hits allowed... CC has always been a second half pitcher, and if he can hit his stride a month later than usual, he could very well keep it up until deep in October.

We all know how important a healthy CC would be in the playoffs. So lets hope this month long layoff simply kept him fresh for when it matters (September and October)
