If Arod ended up out, I can almost guarantee the umps interference isn't called.

another game in Tampa and another weird event.

What a shock. Hope our Yanks get this win and get the he!! out of that place.

There is some voodoo at work in that place or something.

I thought the ump was part of the game. If a batted ball hits the ump in the field, then he doesn't say, "Do over!"

read the rule book, the umpire made the right call

He doesn't have to read the rule book, maybe he saw the game?? The ump needs to get himself out of the way so he is never in position to affect the play and Girardi should have been out there tearing him a new one for that reason alone..

Also, as I watched the game, the issue wasn't the umps placement. It was how the catcher stepped back. Therefore, the ump really wasn't in the way. That's what the big issue was.

Of more import, the fans as a whole are getting sick and disgusted with UMPIRES becoming the game instead of the players. There truly needs to be some remedial training for some umpires and termination of employment for others.

In this case, I don't blame the ump. The catcher took steps backwards. The catchers backward motions put the ump in the way. This is a case where replay would be useful. I find it great the A rod took 3rd again. And I find it sad that our number 4 hitter is more aggressive on the base path than Granderson, and Jeter. Wise is very aggressive. Wise should be the left fielder and Ibanez DH. Not to go off topic, but Granderson has become a long ball dependent. When the shift was on, there was no reason he couldn't lay down a bunt on the 3rd base side. With his speed, he could beat it out.

I have no problem with the Umpire Interference call in today's game other than to once again highlight that an Umpire becomes the story in a baseball game. Clearly it was the catchers fault and not the umpire's fault but the HP umpire once again became part of the story of the game and that was my point. That MLB needs to become proactive in ensuring that umpires do not become the game as they have in the last few years.

If A-rod was out it would have meant the umpire didn't impede the throw and no interference call would have been neccessary. No one impeded A-Rod from getting to third.
