Hello Everyone,

Sorry if this is a bit off-topic in a way, but I wanted to interdouce myself to all You great New York Yankee Fans, I am from Kentucky, and I use to be a Long time Atlanta Braves fan from 1995 to
2005, and stayed with them up untill 2008, but I'd had enough, I couldn't stand being a fan of a team that can't get into the Post-Season, to me I'd lost my passion for the Playoffs without haveing a team that was in the Post-Season,

I'd always liked The Yankees, And I love the New Yankee Stadium, The nice Billiondollar ballpark, I love the fact that The Yankee Ownership will do what they have to do each year to see that the Team is where it needs to be and that it is Almost Always Always Competetive,

so anyway looking forward to Game 6, I really hope the Yankees like all of you can find a way to get it done, I so want to see them Win there 27th World Series Championship and it also would be Special for George Steinbriner with all of his health issues too,

sorry if I rambled, but I am so Pleased to be on Board with The Yankees Now!

welcome my friend....your life will undoubtly get more complicated.....however it will be more satisfying.....

now that you are one of us, here are some of the perks we don't tell non-fans

1. You get to laugh at the mets. They are what we call the comic relief of NY baseball. They are in queens, where the most interesting things that happen out there during met games, is that planes take off and land.
2. You get to point out bandwagon red sox fans. Beware of these, they will most have become fans circa 2004, they will insult you, maybe call you names, just remember their NOT REAL.
3. any help fellow posters?

Uh... 4.You get to watch one of the best shortstops in the game and one of the classiests guys in the league Derek Jeter.

5. You get to watch a team that plays the game right.

He's becoming a Yankee "fan" RIGHT NOW as we're in the World Series, how can you point out those "bandwagon" RS fans and not think this person is one as well. Seriously.

I'm not really a bandwagon jumper, I've always liked the Yankee History as well as how they do Business insureing they do what's needed to put a winner out on the field year in and year out,

Like I said in a previous post, it was no fun haveing a Team that was not in the Post Season year after year, I want a team I know is going to at least be in the hunt, and with The Yankees I'll get that, I was a Braves fan from 1995 to about 2008, so I wouldn't say I just jumped on the bandwagon cause there in the World Series,

it dosen't really matter all that does matter is The Yankees Win there 27th World Series Wednesday Night, The Countdown Begins!

Not tense but I'm not as quick as some of you to "welcome" someone into this "fanbase" when it occurs as we are in the World Series. Often times I see people being referred to as 96ers and bandwagon fans yet this dude is acceptable and they're not? I'm also not a fan of someone who claims to be a fan of a team for 13 yrs and then says oops sorry you're not a winning team I can't like you anymore...I KNOW! I'M GONNA BE A YANKEE FAN THEY'RE IN THE WORLD SERIES!

Welcome, and be prepared for the ride of your life (baseball wise...I mean)! One thing about this franchise is you easily get so used to winning, hence you expect it to be almost automatic. Just guard yourself from the pitfall of "post season or bust" mentality, or it will really get to be awfully painful and frustrating (I am so guilty of this one!). But, hey, that's the Yankees for you. The most winning franchise in all of sport history and holds the distinction of having the most "household" name players in baseball! Welcome to the Stadium! :-)

P.S.: Expect a lot of name-calling and team bashing, you'll get a lot of those too! ;-)

Not acceptable, if it had happened last year or a few years ago I'd be fine with it but not now. I say how dare you try to come here and be apart of this with US who have been Yankee fans through thick and thin.

Is there an application process or something? I've been secretly wanting to be a Yankees fan since '01, and have been thinking that maybe i'm ready to just do it.

You know, its really not that easy to just switch, especially outside NY--we need support! My grandparents told me they would write me out of their will if i switched teams and i already get a lot of persecution just for rooting for you guys every year in the post season. I've been wearing my Yankees hat around Chicago the past few weeks and i've been getting yelled at!

You won't be welcomed by me, period. I don't normally say mean stuff to people and I'm sorry for being so blunt but it is what it is.

I'm just saying...

"Really do Respect The Yankees History, I've Always Loved The Team, and I do like and Encourage There Spending, there the Most Winning Team in all of Sports All I want to do is be apart of it,"

If that was true you would have been a Yankee fan LONG before now. As I said, if it happened last year or any year before now I'd be ok with it but it just doesn't sit right with me now that we're in the World Series.

I'm not saying there's a process I'm just saying it doesn't sit right with me now that we're in the World Series that all of a sudden people want to switch teams and hop aboard the Yankee express.
