A walk off home run and all we get is a fist pump rounding first base?! If he cared more he would've at least given a scotty pods-like scream. Put him on waivers.

Was his uniform at least dirty?

Uh, I think it is obvious that the only reason he's playing well is because he suddenly started caring.

New manager, and one that he likes and one that doesn't throw him under the bus. He's happier and puts more effort into his craft.

Except for the fact that Rios was one of the 3 or 4 guys tightest with Oz.

Yeah, which means he probably wasn't worried about being held accountable or being benched by his buddy.

Except when his buddy did bench him. Why do we need to manufacture some storyline that makes this about Guillen?

Why do people need any simple story to begin with? Health, stance, hitting coach, manager, position change, home life, confidence, new season, etc. All of these things could easily have an effect on a baseball player. And all at once.

And when was this?

But I was told that hitting coaches don't make a difference. Agreed though.

Hitting coaches are the most important position on the field. It's why the Braves are considering giving Greg Walker a raise from the 400, 000 he makes after he has inspired the Braves to go from 10th in the league in scoring to 3rd.

He was benched at different times in June and July. One midgame for not running hard. You may remember his replacement that game Brent Lillibrige was the one in CF when the winning run scored from first on a single.

Good one. But I'm thinking Manto should get an even bigger raise if he was the one that told Rios to stand straighter at the plate.

"Konerko rounding third"...my gf doesn't even look up from the laptop or her book or whatever
"and here comes Rios"...almost gets whiplash to look up from whatever she's doing to see the game
