    • Adam Dunn's strikeouts are outrageous!!!

Adam Dunn is on pace to shatter the MLB strikeouts record for a single season. He now has 119 strikeouts in only 73 games. He averages 1.63 strikeouts per game which puts him on pace for 264 for the year. If he plays the whole season he seems certain to be the new Strikeout King of All-Time.

The record holder is Mark Reynolds at 223.

1. Mark Reynolds 223 - 2009
2. Mark Reynolds 211 - 2010
3. Drew Stubbs 205 - 2011
4. Mark Reynolds 204 - 2008
5. Adam Dunn 199 - 2010

sit him against left-handers.... how is he still batting 3rd is beyond me.... Dunn is 5th batter at most!

DH Youkilis and put Escobar at 3rd against lefties!!

1. He also leads in walks
2. He mostly swings at pitches in the zone

That doesn't make you a 3rd hitter in a lineup.

the 3rd batter is supposed to be the best all-around hitter on the team. Adam Dunn is on a record breaking strikeouts performance and may absolutely demolish reggie jackson's all time record of striking out when he retires.

he should bunt it down the line each time. that way take away the shift. better than striking out each time. id rather let dan johnson dh or play first

He is striking out too much, but he also has a .900 OPS and is amongst the league leader in HR's and RBI's.

I do agree that he should be hitting 4th or 5th instead of 3rd, however.

Wait 'til the 1st string stats boys get to 'ya and tear you from limb to limb. These are only the 2nd and 3rd stringers who are gnawin' at your danged hide. Will keep JWren and NSE distracted with whatever I can think up so that they'll never see your post, okay? They love Adam Dunn and his OPS.

Dunn is also on pace for about 50 taters, so to no one's surprise he still strikes out a lot. So did Babe Ruth.

.867 OPS coming into today's game despite a .208 average. Good thing OPS correlates with runs and batting average doesn't.

Then, I guess everything's all well in Soxland. Will try not to be so emotional when he strikes out 3 or 4 times in a game. Love his recent RBI production. He is the greatest of all time! Go, Sox!!

""Sale's stuff is so straight it's scary. It can work over an inning or two, but... No break to pitches= straight; sorry. He is okay for a spot start.""

mark it down.

No, he said that Babe Ruth, the best hitter of all-time, struck out a lot too.

It's those 260 k's that Dunn will get this year that's a-causin' it. That, plus the 125 walks, most resulting in no one actually scoring, all of those popups and flyouts...why, there's hardly a lot of AB's whereby he did anything. Now, he's on a RBI strike which he says is because he wants more money. Oh, that Dunn!! Go, Sox!!

You would be an excellent pitching coach. Keep telling your pitchers that it doesn't matter how many walks that you give up because most of them won't score.

Walks don't lead to runs, everybody knows that. More importantly, now you get called stat boy because you didn't agree with something stupid (even though you used no stats).

"Then, I guess everything's all well in Soxland."

we are 2.5 games in first with a team you said at the beginning of the year would win about 70 games , if they were lucky...everything is more than well in soxland..i love this team..

who is gonna bat 3rd??...who will give you more production than dunn?? right now he is on pace for close to 120 rbi despite being in a horrible slump this month..moving a healthy paulie into the 3 spot won't give you any more production since he would be moving just one spot...and rios , despite having one of his bext year's so far would not have 57 rbi at this point if he hit 3rd..
