Personally, I could care less if Republicans win. I don't care about that.

I just want the right PEOPLE to win. Meaning not all the Republicans in name only that are currently spending money like crazy in the house and senate.

It's time for real fiscally responsible free market conservatives to step forward and take the country back from the edge of Socialism.

What's the "Democrat Party"?

The party that's in trouble is the one that has Newt Gingrich being a voice of reason. However, Democratic Party prospects are tied in many ways to Obama's success. And that at the moment is lacking. I think a viable moderate 3rd Party is what the doctor has ordered.

I know. But the use of "Democrat Party" is a calculated smear.

Yeah, I know. Consider the source. The same guy who claimed McCain was going to be POTUS.

"Fall?" Never! But enough of a rebuke for them (significant minority status) to remember and return to the "Democratic" Party of old. Now that would be a good bromide for America's Republic.

As for,Republicans: they may just be dumb enough not to get the real political message even in the event they take 3 of 3 tonight.

CNN has it right. I don't know many Democrats who are sweating any of these elections. NY-23 is a Republican district and has been for decades. Virginia swung blue in 2008, but is hardly in the blue state category on the basis of one election. And Corzine is just one unlikable man. Not even Democrats can stand him much. If Christie wins it will be because the Dems stayed home, not because of anything he did.

On the other hand, NY-23 exposed a severe chasm in the Republican Party that you can bet will be exploited as we get closer to this time next year.

I can understand NY-23 being an exposure of the GOP gone wild. But if Corzine loses despite Obama's endorsement, that should be taken as a tiny referendum on Obama in a safe blue state. The Virginia race if it's a significant Republican victory can also illustrate the loss for whatever gains the Obama grass-roots campaign achieved. These elections won't show the beginning of the end for the Democratic Party, but you and CNN are understating the importance.

I agree. We want the right people for the job, who cares which party they belong to.

This left vs. right game that people play is illogical, ignorant and counter productive for America.

Yep.

It's fun to watch someone like Purplehawk already using the childish "these races aren't important" card already. She's already "spinning" the possible losses for democrats.

Democrats, Republicans. Who cares. Just give me someone who is against growing our already huge government, against raising taxes (for EVERY American), pro-capitalism and against interventionist foreign policy.

I see the elections today as a win already for my kind, because it showed how real the concern is from ordinary Americans.

Purplehawk can try to spin it as a "divide in the Republican party" all she wants. Fine by me. I don't care one iota about 'party' politics.
