I think the administration has the right to refuse to talk to certain media outlets. However, I do question the wisdom of doing so. This merely serves to make the administration look bad. And there is a part of me that's glad that the other bureau chiefs stood for journalistic integrity.

Not here. If they are really chosing to stand for journalistic integrity, they should have blasted Fox years ago. The administration's recent characterization of Fox News is a long overdue acknowledgment of the obvious: Fox News is not a legitimate news organization. Indeed, after years of serving as the research and messaging wing of the Republican Party, it has now become the electronic evangelist of an ultra-partisan and non-reality-based world view. Americans need to know that.

The best thing for the Obama admin to do is let Fox News spew its garbage and ignore it or laugh at it.

You have to be confident in your own beliefs, "Presidential",if you will, to do that:)

You are ignorant of Fox. You don't watch TV.

I'm in no way "ignorant of Fox." That network is in my sights and has been for 10 years.

Oh please. The Obama admin is like an amateur compared to the prior one when it comes to silencing the media.

However, that doesn't mean I like this. One thing that this admin has been too eerily like the Bush admin is that they don't seem to respect the media.

Fox's version is a lie. Plain and simple. They're trying to boost ratings by escalating this thing.

Don't be silly. For instance:

Purplehawk read lots of articles and been to websites that say Hawk Harrelson is a bad announcer. She's never heard him so she'll just believe he's bad.

The big difference is that I don't give a hoot about Hawk Harrelson.

I posted an article alleging that Butt Boil was a race-baiter rather than a full-blown racist. I said at the time that I didn't agree with the writer's take. I'm quite good at making up my own mind, thanks.

>>> the white house and obama have no right to wage this war against fox <<<

It may be a misguided strategy, but to say they have no right to do it is even more misguided.

Fox has already made a mockery of the word "fair," so let's not go there.

I also don't think the strategy is misguided. Our presidents have a long tradition of telling us when things aren't as they seem. Fox is one of those things. It is not what it markets itself as being. It is a hack shop.

It's misguided. By doing all this, Obama's taking Fox News too seriously. The best thing to do with a bad joke is to laugh at it and move on.

All Obama can accomplish with this tactic is enhancing the reputation of Fox News, which is counter to his intended objective.

It makes no sense.
