Is Davy the NL manager of the year right now or would they give to someone else? I cannot see Dusty beating out Davy. Thought that it might have gone to Mets manager throught the first half of season before their collapse. Any ideas??

As of now, got to be Davey all the way.

The one challenge might be in Pittsburgh. Hurdle has that team in contention and they don't have near the talent the Nats have. I don't see how Davey can miss, but if he doesn't win, I'd bet on Pittsburgh.
Go Nats

Good point, pittsburgh actually worries me more than the Reds also.

Pittsburgh are pretenders. Cards scare me more. But we can match up with anyone favorably.

If there is any skipper in all of baseball that deserves another shot at the Big Stage, without question, it is Davey Johnson. Between his Mets title and now, he worked under 2 of the worst sports owners ever, Marge Schotte and Peter Angelos, and still achieved modestly good results, in the process.

"Pittsburgh are pretenders."

My comment had nothing to do with Pittsburgh as a threat in the playoffs. It was about manager of the year. I agree with Nats3 that Davey has worked under the absolute worst 2 owners in MLB. The O's got what they deserved when they let Davey go. I never understood that move.
Go Nats

Hope nobody disses me for mentioning the other league and our bitter rivals, but should Buck Showalter get Manager of the Year in the AL, or is Bob Melvin doing a better job with the A's?

I'd say it's a toss up in the AL, but the A's deserve it more with the O's a close second.

Davey should be a lock for the NL if they make the playoffs.

If the Nats or the Bucs win their division and the other team doesn't, or only one of them makes the playoffs, then it seems to me that guy should be in. Otherwise it's kind of a toss up at this point.
