Chad Qualls traded to NYY today. Although they DFA'd him a few days ago, so I'm still not ready to call them sellers.

Look at it this way; If the Nats play .500 for the rest of the season that;'s good for about 88 wins. To catch them the Phillies have to go about 52-29 (.642). That suggests, to me, the Phillies are sellers .... and they have quite a lot to sell if they choose to.

hmmmmmmm... get ready for a huge "fire sale" in Philadelphia! Also, take note that their current payroll is humongous. Not sure what the exact amount is, but they have Howard, Utley, Lee, Halliday, et al ALLLL signed for years to come and now they have to deal with another super contract for Hamels... I'll bet they'll have to say "bye bye" to Cole after the season concludes and he signs with some team like the Yankees... it's gonna be a quiet fall and a cold winter in Philly!
