No. The Nats gave Kearns $1 million for the buyout clause, making him a FA this winter. Had they not done so, they would have been on the hook for $10 million in 2010, thanks to Bowden.

Unfortunately, the Nats still have Guzman on the books for $8 million in 2010. Still, other than him, the rest of Bowden's bad contracts have expired.
