Strasburg scratched with neck muscle strain
Stephen Strasburg, the Nationals number-one overall draft pick this June, was scratched from Saturday's scheduled start in the Arizona Fall League Rising Stars game due to a strained muscle in his neck, the team said Friday.

According to a Nationals spokesman, Straburg's condition is day-to-day, and he is expected to pitch again before the AFL schedule is completed on Nov. 19.

Strasburg, a 6-foor-4 right-hander, is 3-1 with a 5.28 ERA in four starts for the Phoenix Desert Dogs, with 17 strikeouts and five walks in 15 1/3 innings.

So much for whatever ratings the AFL Rising Stars game was going to get on the MLB Network. The whole reason they were showing it this year for the first time was Strasburg.

If the pain moves to the rear lower regions it could mean trouble

Tracee Hamilton update the Nationals Journal entry to say that Strasburg woke up with a stiff neck and that it's nothing to worry about, just that the Nats will take their time with him because it's November and that he will remain in AZ through the AFL playoffs.
