Interesting that they put the Bor@ zz clients in bold. That's a pretty extensive list - wonder which ones the Nats will pursue?

more news from MLB Rumors... this is mainly for Kimbelli :)

htp://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/11/twins-acquire-jj-hardy.html

this one eliminates the JJ Hardy to the Nats idea! Which was a good idea imo kim...

htp://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/11/epstein-on-the-hermida-trade.html

No Hermida to the Nats either!

The offseason hot stove is starting out with a bang!

Winning the World Series in 6 games was 2 too many for the Yankees, so they've decided to increase the 2010 player payroll to $250 million. LOL

Brian Schneider, Brian Schnedier, Brian Schneider, Brian Schneider, Brian Schneider,

Oh yea and Brian Schneider, and let's not forget Brian Schneider...

He was a great team captain for the Nationals in 2005........

We need Brian Schneider, absolutely Brian Schnedier.......

Cats Eye: Why do you like Brian so much; he seems OK but not superstar?

Do you think he would be happy as a sub and defensive replacement once Flores is healthy. If so, it might just work

I hate to bring this up, but somebody has to. What about allegations that Schneider was racist and didn't get along with pitchers like Livan? I hope it's not true, but if it is, bringing him back could be a big mistake.

He wasn't/isn't good enough to matter. There are good catchers out there this year and I want one as Flores has to prove he can stay healthy/perform for a full season.

The Nats really started to tailspin after Flores got hurt, so we SHOULD see if we can pick up a catcher this off-season.

Who made those allegations? The Mets have more Latino pitchers than the Nats do, so I don't buy it.

What I do remember is the infamous Ryan Church quote about Schneider and Church's ex:

"I said, like, Jewish people, they don't believe in Jesus. Does that mean they're doomed? Jon nodded, like, that's what it meant. My ex-girlfriend! I was like, man, if they only knew. Other religions don't know any better. It's up to us to spread the word," Church said.

per MLB rumors:

htp://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/11/royals-decline-options-on-crisp-olivo-yabuta.html

Miguel Olivo would be a solid pickup for catcher in my opinion.

"Miguel Olivo would be a solid pickup for catcher in my opinion."

Clearly you've never seen Mr. Olivo at work.

clearly you have not seen the dreck the Nats have been playing Catcher while Flores continues to get injured??

Olivo is head and shoulders better than both Bard and Nieves, and better than Flores in several categories:
Olivo played in 114 games, Bard 79, Nieves 72, Flores 29

Olivo BA: .250 Bard: .230 Nieves: .259 Flores: .301
Olivo OPS: .782 .654 .612 .698
Olivo HRs: 23 6 1 4
Olivo PB: 10 3 4 2
Olivo CS%: .282 .271 .277 .421
Olivo Fld%: .990 .988 .986 .993

Olivo's career CS% is .342... so this season was an off year throwing out baserunners. Both Bard and Nieves were much higher than their career CS%

Olivo is easily better than what we have on the Nats. I can easily argue/agree that Flores is better- but his sample size is very small- and he has not been able to stay healthy.

Now tell me again why Olivo is not worthy of the Nats??

What's wrong with Church's question? The vast majority of Christians believe the same thing.

Evangelicals believe what Church does, not "the vast majority of Christians," and they're not stupid enough to get quoted saying it when one of their teammates is Jewish.

When my daughter was baptized we were told the same thing that the team chaplain told Church, so yes, Christians do believe that non-Christians have no chance to get into heaven. As for Church being stupid for talking about religion in front of a reporter, that we can agree on.

Glad to hear we can agree on Ryan Church's stupidity in talking about it to a reporter :-)
