My last game before WS Game 6: Opening Day rain out 2008, stayed until I was the last one there.

World Series Game 6: My first game in the new House. An interesting mix of Great and Sterile. Any 40+er will be in flashback city with the FULL facade and the D Train running in the background of Right Field. You can definitely tell it is 1.5 billion dollars of a stadium. But, on the other side, like a Yahoo story stated this morning: it is also too much like a Mall. Maybe it just will take some getting used to. The Kobe Beef Burgers are outstanding in the Jim Beam Suite Food Network dining area. There is MUCH more room in the walkway areas, a BIG plus with 50K there every day. That must have something to do with EVERY member of the Yankee Employ or Ownership has not stopped stating for 3 days: IT IS THE FANS THAT MAKE IT HAPPEN AND PAY FOR THEM to have this fun.

Well anyone that went to the old Stadium would say the new one is sterile in comparison...seriously though, I liked it, I was there to see them play Oakland, it is a very beautiful stadium, the return of the frieze is my favorite thing, and being able to go out to the bleachers is nice too. It'll never be the old Stadium, but since they "had to" replace it, they did a great job.

I went up this year, but unfortunatley had to leave before they started the game (7+ rain delay game). The place is done very well. It doesn't have the feel of the old stadium yet, but it is on the way. The new stadium is a lot more open which is nice, but takes away that awe you got when you walked from the dark confines of the old stadium to the field and it just opens up and you see the massive, green field. I missed that. However, it also has a feeling of a mall with a ballpark inside. Everything is done very well though and the seats are great etc. Not too much signage and monuments park and the museum is very nice. Yankee stadium is far superior to CitiField though. Citifield isn't as bad as it plays on TV, but the set-up stinks. The outfield is way too busy and it has less seats than Nats Park, but you would swear there were 48,000 not 41,000. A lot more upperdeck seats than lower bowl.
