Not sure if anyone else is doing it...but I am just going to put this on here to see what other people think. The this year in baseball awards, I am going to put down the Categories and who I voted for.

Hitter: Mauer
Pitcher: Greinke
Rookie: Tommy Hanson of the Braves
Manager: Ron Washington (I just like what he is doing there)
Closer: Mo
Setup: Gooey
Defense: Yadier Molina
Performance: Buehrle's perfect game
Play: Wise's catch in that game (surprised they didn't have Casilla's play, still would have voted for Wise)
Moment: Casilla's hit in game 163
Oddity: That little girl who threw the foul ball back...I loved that, all that is good with baseball
Executive: Frank Wren of the Braves (Made a crazy nasty rotation)
Unsung star: Adam Lind (would have gave it to Aaron Hill, but he got comeback Player at least)

I'll take Pujols as hitter.

Tulowitzki at defense.

Manager: Jim Tracy

JA Happ as rookie

Executive: Amaro or O'Dowd

Unsung star: Span (who is so unsung, not sure he even made the list)

Once, I was an umpire, had an ear infection and was in the air force...

What is the criteria for a come back player of the year ? Does Cuddy qualify ?

I am so dumb :-(

Hey Royal,

Yes, Cuddyer was eligible for the Comeback Player Award. The winner this year was Aaron Hill. Second was Victor Martinez and third was Cuddyer.

Aaron hill ? and then V Mart ?

how those players were so important than our Cuddy in the play off run in September ?

with out HIM after Justin, how do we even get to 163rd game Pcrnat ?

Can we explain that please ?

How they judge that ?

Aaron Hill had a head injury in 2008 and had rebounded with good numbers this year. V. Martinez was injured last year but his numbers this year don't compare with Cuddyer's. Cuddyer ended up a distant third. He should have been at least a close second. I think the players vote for Comeback Player of the Year. I don't know what the voters were looking at...???

Here are the top five:

Hill 88
V. Martinez 63
Cuddyer 34
Posada 31
Branyan 26

beat reporters vote for comeback player of the year. The first year it was on-line polls, but since that first year, it's beat reporters.
