Interesting that Infante was left off the Venezulan roster. Assumed he wanted to play. They are infield heavy but surely could use him as the 4th outfielder. Maybe he wasn't interested in the outfield or his broken hand isn't healing fast. Could be a lot of reasons.

Another thing is they plan to use Cabrera at 1st and Sandoval at 3rd. Wonder what the Tigers will tell them. Obviously a few games would be fine, but if Miguel went all March playing first base, that would really hurt his defense during the season. Hard to play one position all month then hop to another as the season starts.

If any Tigers play, it will be a last minute decision. Either the News or Free Press had an article on it.

Venezuela has enough baseball players to go with outfielders who hit like outfielders. Or at least hit.

But their roster showed only 3 outfielders. Surely Infante is a better 4th outfielder than a nonexistant player (like kelly)

That said Martin may play shortstop and could put George Kottaras at catcher, however Kottaras isn't on Canada's roster.
