225 is .338 MAG.

Don't use those rounds, in any .308.

I found stuff citing a 180 grain maximum for a .308, but I also found a site that said you can go up to 220 grain, at least with a roundnose. But you're basically right, that's a lot of bullet for a .308. It's supposed to be a pretty high-velocity rifle, not a turnip-hurler.
