With the Rams and Titans winning last Sunday, only Tampa Bay remains winless. Being the only team ever to go 0-16 is the Lions' sole distinction, so let's not have any other club crash the party and steal a share of the Lions' hard-earned record.

Go Bucs!

Isn't the Buc's in the same league?
Don't worry, the Lions will play them and get pummeled

The Buccaneers are no longer in the same division as the Lions, and they don't play each other this year, so the Bucs are going to have to man up and beat someone other than the hapless Leos.

And the Bucs have a tough schedule the rest of the way. Their best chance for a win would seem to be against the Seahawks, and that one's on the road.

By the way, the "Tampa Bay" moniker is really stupid. The city is Tampa. Other teams don't call themselves the Detroit River Red Wings or the New York Harbor Yankees or the Puget Sound Seahawks.

Brings to mind one of the all-time great moments of truth and clarity. Then coach
John McKay, when asked about his '76 team's execution, said he's all for it.

"Root for the Buccaneers"

You obviously were not born and raised in the Detroit Metro area. Rooting for rival teams to defeat your home team is not the standard-line of thinking with lifetime Detroit sports fans.

If I'm upset at any home sports franchise, I boycott them. No visits to the apparel shops, Ford Field ticket office and no listening / watching them play during the regular season.

I was born and raised in the Detroit area. Rooting for the rival teams on game-day??... NEVER!!

It would be difficult for me to root for the Bucs to beat the Lions this year, in light of the fact that they don't even play each other. Looks like you need to get another book.

Well it still beats the whole Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim thing.

I just say call them the Tampa Bucs instead of Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But whatever.

Tampa's remaining schedule

Green Bay
at Miami
New Orleans
at Atlanta
at Carolina
New York Jets
at Seattle
at New Orleans
Atlanta

Their "glimmers of hope" are going to be this week against GB (depends on how well the Packers handle the Favre hangover), Miami (don't know what Dolphins team will show up), Carolina (see Miami), the Jets (see Carolina) and Seattle (mediocre team)

I think their lone win will come against the Jets. Bucs end up 1-15.

That whole name-of-the-Angels thing really has been a fiasco. Go with either Los Angeles Angels or Anaheim Angels and stick with it.

Another clunker is "Camden Yards," which makes no sense, or "Oriole Park at Camden Yards," which is ridiculously clumsy.

I know....I still call them the Anaheim Angels as I refuse to call them the LA Angels. Then again the Pistons should be called the Auburn Hills Pistons instead of the Detroit Pistons.

I'm ok with Oriole Park at Camden Yards for the fact they had a great debate over it whether to call it Oriole Park or Camden Yards and opted to call it Oriole Park at Camden Yards. I call it Camden Yards though.

But here's probably in terms of the stadium names that bug the HeII out of me..........

Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. I liked it as The Ballpark in Arlington

Yards? Plural? How many places do they play?

There are plenty of teams that don't play in the city they're named for. The Dallas Cowboys don't play in Dallas. The Los Angeles Lakers play in Inglewood. The Giants and Jets don't even play in the STATE of New York, much less the city. As for the Pistons, I don't care where they play, because I'm not going to watch them no matter where they are.

So why not "AT&T Park on McCovey Cove," "Dodger Stadium in Chavez Ravine," "Joe Louis Arena on the Detroit Riverfront Across from Canada," "Comerica Park Adjacent to the Fox Theater District", or "University of Phoenix Stadium Not on the Campus Because There Isn't One"?

Just call the freaking thing Oriole Park.
