Who do you think is going to win the World Series?

Judging from the post season, I think the Phillies have the most well-balanced team. They seem to come up with the clutch hits 1-9 and their pitching has been pretty good. If their bullpen holds, they stand a good chance of taking the title again.

hmmmmmmmmmm let me think.....

phillies in 5
philles have the better starting pitching...
phillies have an all round better offense
phillies have the better manager
yankees have the better closer
phillies have the better pen

My most hated MLB team are the Yankees. But I must pick them to win in 6 games. The Bronx Bombers put themselves on a special, higher plateau in the 2nd half of the season - especially at home. They are currently playing like one of the greatest teams ever assembled. I would be scared to bet against them.

one of the best teams ever assembled? Yikes... not sure about that.

Girardi will blow it.

Go Phils (I dislike you about 1% less than the Sk.ankees)

Learn to read rjones...

I said the Yankees are 'currently" playing like one of the best teams ever assembled. Unfortunately, there are no MLB stats for monthly team performance levels. Not sure if you knew that.

Lastly, I really don't care which board members you like or dislike. If it's that important for you to align yourself with individual posters here, then go tug Big Baby / Moderator Squealer Tigerroar's apron instead.

I don't align with anyone here. Take your ball and go home.

The Cleveland Indians will win it.

CC will win 2
Lee will win 2
and there ya go, it's the 4 wins needed....lol

Of course I'm joking, for one Lee and CC will probably pitch AGAINST each other each time, but how painful must it be to be an Indians fan this October/November.

As for my prediction, I'm going with the Yankees. Although I'd rather see Philly win it.

Phillies all the way. I might be a little biased just because i hate the yankees, but look at the last series.

The Phillies took care of the dogers fairly easily and they were the best team in the NL.

With the phillies' hitting and addition of Lee I am seeing and hoping for a repeat.

Yankees in 7.

I'm not overly sold on Philadelphia's bullpen.

<Wahoo's>
What a nice point. Glad their not in Cleveland anymore, should keep us from finishing last for a few years.

<prediction>
Feel same way. Yankees will win (Home Advantage, clickin' on all 8) but I'll be pulling for the Phildelphia. Should go 6 or 7.

Should be a good series, I expect it to go 6 or 7. The beloved Skanks of the AL will probably win it.

It will all depend on how the umpiring goes.

If the Yankmees get the ridiculous calls and the exaggerated strike zone, they should win it.
I really hope the umps don't make bad calls - but I'm not holding out any hope.

damus...
i agree that the yankees are playing very well right now... and at home they are very good( yuck)
but all the phillies have to do is win 1 game in 4.. and they should win the series...
the phillies are solid at home.. and burnette cant win.. not agaisnt people like howard , rollins, werth

the yankees are going up against cliff lee.. who will pitch atleast 2 games if not 3
cole hamels who will pitch game 2 and game 5 . and maybe relieve in game 7

that right there should be enough..
lee pitched game 1 against the yankees and beat CC.. and that was with the indian. plus lee had a bad team behind him

This should be a good series between 2 pretty evenly matched teams. I would give the edge to the Phillies with their starters and their ability to hit good pitching. Most of the sportscasters were predicting St. Louis was going to take the NL title because of their pitching....Philadelphia showed them what good hitters could do.

Both teams have performed well at home. The Yankees have 2 really good starters and the best closer in baseball, but they haven't faced a really good pitching staff yet in the post season. The Phillies weakest point is their bullpen and closer. If that holds up I think they are going to win.

My prediction is Philadelphia in 6 games.

The yanks are the only ones that can beat the yanks.

The Phils slapped the Skanks around pretty good tonight. I disagree with your claim about "only the yanks can beat the yanks". Cliff Lee and Utley were responsible for much of the beating tonight.

ooooooo that was a sweet game tonight.. i knew cliff lee was good.. but wow.. are you sure that was a american league team????
lee looked like he was pitching to a minor league team..
a-hole did not even look like he belong.... no wait.. this is the post season.. he chokes?

so it must have been the yankees...

go philles

Phillies in 6. Their pen may have some question marks but the Spankme's is even worse.

A-Rod's fun in the playoffs is over and as per last night he's back to his old ways.

Shame about the error that negated the shut out.

Lee's performance was outstanding!

I was going to stomach tonight's game... but ESPN classic is showing Ali / Foreman.

George was a scary scary man... and I'd rather watch Ali rope-a-dopin than a couple hours of unimaginative Yankee's fans chanting "who's your daddy".

Ok... I flipped over for a second.

Tim McCarver says... "The Phillies are playing with house money and Pedro's the croupier."

I googled croupier, shook my head in anger at Timmy the dottering toolbag, then I turned back over to ESPN Classic.
