Let's try this again. Hopefully this lasts longer than the other one.

Ivan Rodriguez has 5 seasons in which he has hit more home runs than he has walked, including 3 in a row.

1999 - 35 HR, 24 BB
2000 - 27 HR, 19 BB
2001 - 25 HR, 23 BB
2005 - 14 HR, 11 BB
2007 - 11 HR, 9 BB

10/24/2009

On this date in history, a certain poster who shall remain nameless, started thread with himself in the title complaining about other posters for doing the same thing he frequently does himself. Then, he cries like a victim when he can't handle the truth.

Hypocrite?

You be the judge.

Bummer - I was looking all over the the random stats thread and couldn't figure out where it went....then I read in another thread it was deleted.

Ok, here goes another random stat:

The Detroit Tigers played their first major league game of the modern era on April 25, 1901 against Milwaukee. Detroit entered the 9th inning trailing 13-4 and ended up winning 14-13. They finished the year 3rd in the new 8 team American League.

September 27, 2003 - The Tigers were down 8-0 by the 5th inning. The Tigers then scored 1 run in the 5th, 3 in the 7th, 4 in the 8th and 1 in the 9th to win 9-8 - their biggest comeback in the last 10 years. And it came in the year in which they lost the most games, not only in team history, but in league history, 119.

The boxscore:
www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/DET/DET200309270.shtml

No home runs were hit by the Tigers. Alex Sanchez stole 4 bases, Craig Monroe had 4 hits and 3 RBI, Carlos Pena had 4 RBI.

The first World Series was played between Pittsburgh and Boston in 1903 and was a nine-game series. Boston won the series in eight games 5-3.

Wow, you found the identity of the team that won the first World Series. Are you a professional researcher? Because you must have had to dig pretty deep to come up with that kind of information.

Another useless post from six-hopper.

Until 2009 when new Yankee Stadium was built, Comerica Park was the newest AL ballpark.

Between 2000 & 2009, NINE new NL stadiums were built in between Comerica Park and Yankee Stadium.

"Between 2000 & 2009, NINE new NL stadiums were built in between Comerica Park and Yankee Stadium."

Does that include Citi Field?

July 25, 2007 - Ryan Raburn had a 7 RBI game.

My mistake.....was off by 1. 8.

Citizens Bank Park
Nationals Park
Great American Ballpark
PNC Park
Miller Park
Busch Stadium
PETCO Park
AT&T Park (same day, but Tigers played their game earlier)

I did throw in Citi Field on mistake, but the Yankees played before the Mets.

Ivan Rodriguez has at least 1 HR at every position in the batting order.

1st - 1
2nd - 87
3rd - 70
4th - 8
5th - 32
6th - 68
7th - 24
8th - 11
9th - 4

Probably not as rare as it might seem, but he's the first player I've noticed it from.
