Just finished watching the WS and thought Nick Swisher would be a great addition to our team. He plays like he's having a blast, he soon will be a World Champion, and he has some pop.

What ya'll think?

Swisher's a phony. Hes terrible in the outfield and his numbers are bloated because of the ridiculous new stadium in NY. He's also very arrogant and a few ex-teammates have blasted him for it. He was awful in Chicago. Plus, he will command way too much money.

One of my most hated players in baseball. Has a face you just want to punch.

The last player i'd want on the team!

Swisher’s 29 home runs, only 8 of them came in the “ridiculous new stadium in NY”. Every single one of his offensive categories were better on the road this year other than walks and strikeouts (Which are obviously bloated by park factors)...

Swisher is owed $6.75M in 2010, $9M in 2011 and a club option for 2012 of $10.25 with a $1M buyout. Fangraphs has his WAR at 3.7 and valued him at $16.5 Million this year. His contract is pretty reasonable for he next three years.

As opposed to Jose Guillen? I'll take Swisher every time.

Hey numb nutts, bloated numbers in Yankee Stadium? Then why only 8 of 29 HR's in NY? Swish has been great for the team, works the count, good defense & excellent in clubhouse.

We'll take him

Think they would take Soria and DDJ for him?

I would not make that deal, but I am sure Cashman would...

Swisher is only a little better than DeJesus. What Swisher has over DeJesus offensively, DeJesus has over Swisher defensively, albeit different positions LF v RF. So no way do you throw Soria in the deal too. I actually wouldn't want to trade Soria for Swisher straight up...I'd think you could get a little better than Swisher for Soria....at least someone a couple years younger with the same talent....or someone at a different position.

Soria and DDJ for Swisher? That would be a horrible trade for the Royals!

What is your point? Why reply to me?

They would do that trade in a heartbeat.

Sure, Nick would be good on the team, but there is nothing we can afford to offer them that would be worth it. I'm sure we can do a Banny + DDJ (Both of whom the Yankees have interest in) for him, but it would be a horrible trade.

My point is Soria/DDJ is WAY too much to give up for Swisher. I replied to you because you were the closest person to reply to. I was trying to extend the conversation to see if Yankee fans had any input.

Ok, I thought you were under the assumption that I would be for that trade...

Not gonna happen, he's overpriced and not what we are targeting. He had a good year but is not likely to continue the same production. The Yankees are likely to retain him anyway.

At first I did, but than I saw how many posts had and assumed no Royals fan would be for that trade.
