Saw where his QB rating for the game was 25%. Not sure if that was positive or negative. The guy was rushed but actually not that much. That was probably the worst showing of a pro quarterback I have ever saw.

Yea, I had to search for it and knew it would be pathetic. Even Jamarcus Russell could do better than that and that gets pretty low. I'm beside myself they put so much money into this loser without at least taking one season to see how he does with this offense.. At this point Brodie's rookie numbers are gonna be head and shoulders above his for 6 games, when will these people wake up!!

The QB rating is a not a percent. And 25.3 is the lowest QB rating I may have ever seen for one particular game for a starting QB.

no need to spite cassel and attack him personally just because he's playing in front of brodie.

that said, i just don't know where or how they see "starting" NFL QB in the guy. he's a slow read. he's entirely too indecisive in the pocket, and holds onto the ball too long as a result of it.

the zone blitz is his cryptonite. he absolutely struggles reading it. until he proves that he can solve the blitz, then d-coordinators will continue to send it at him. the o-line will continue to get chewed up and take the full blame for his struggles.

unfortunately, croyle has similar struggles with being a slow read - just maybe not to the degree of cassel.

All I know is this guy won 11 games in New England last yr!! he had WEAPONS and an offensive line. Our receiving corps is one of the most inconsistent in the NFL, that great catch by Bowe in the endzone is an example. He makes that and will drop on that hits him in the hands. His performance today was horrible. I just know what i saw him do in the games he played in New England last yr. I just know Brodie Croyle isnt the answer at starting QB!!

It's not a "personal attack" kdub, it's been my opinion that Cassel just isn't worth 60 mil based on one season and that there is a world of difference to me between these two, it's no contest from where I sit.. Brodie is quicker making the reads, quicker getting the ball out and has a much stronger arm, that's why he was a 3rd rd pick who actually was picked to go in the second rd by the draft analyst and Cassel being a 7th rd, the difference is night and day from where I sit.. Believe me it's not personal..

Same ol excuse,, now apply that same line to Brodie Croyle which is something a lot of you anti- Brodie guys don't seem to get..

I am not Anti Brodie. He is a valuable asset to this team as a backup!! What has Brodie done in ths league that makes you think he would be the answer as a franchise QB??? he has been injury prone at all levels High School, College and Pro. I am just asking what has he done that makes you think he is the answer??

He's had 9 starts as an NFL starting QB, not enough to pass judgement on what he has done because he wasn't given a fair chance to show it.. He's been handicapped by a bad O line his last 2 seasons and injured as a result.. He also hasn't had the WEAPONS you refer to because for one there was no running game to speak of the last 2 seasons,, again because of a bad O line. He hasn't had any recievers as well other than Tony G so to ask what has he done is yet to be seen. But if you want to get some idea the difference between these 2 QBs go watch the highlight reel on NFL.com of each QB,, count the seconds between the time the ball is snapped and the time it leaves their hands.. Cassel is in his 5th season and Brodie's actual rookie season was 2007, compare Cassel's numbers this season with his first six starts to Brodie's rookie season of 6 starts, it shows the disparity in talent from where i sit, a 5th yr player versus a rookie. This to me shows what Brodie can do given the patience which there has been a lack of. If they continue to stick with Cassel this team will not win another game IMO, had Croyle been the starter from day one I sincerely believe we would be no worse than 3-4 at this point, he would have won both the Oakland and Dallas games. There will be a time when you will be eating crow saying he is valuable to this team as a backup,, write it down and mark my words on it. The "backup" is making 60 mill..

"All I know is this guy won 11 games in New England last yr!! he had WEAPONS and an offensive line"

i guess that just goes to show that TEAMS win games, and not QBs. the whole "he won 11 games ...." theme, says little (if anything) about cassel as an individual.

by the way, cassel somehow "transformed" new england's o-line from one of the best, to being a "poor" pass protecting unit, by becoming the most sacked QB in the league.

i guess d-coordinators quickly found out that he can't read the blitz very well. the trend just followed him to kc, and d-coordinators are sending zone blitz's at us every other down.

don't worry though, he'll still have the convenient excuse of a poor o-line and below average weapons.

"It's not a "personal attack" kdub"

you called him a loser. sounds a little personal to me.

"it's been my opinion that Cassel just isn't worth 60 mil based on one season"

you're preaching to the choir. i thought that pioli's 1st 3 major moves as chiefs GM were mistakes.

1) hiring haley - though i give him the benefit of the doubt.
2) investing a 2nd round pick and $36 million guaranteed - in a largely unproven, career back-up QB like matt cassel.
3) spending the #3 overall pick in the draft - on a 4-3 college DE with mediocre pass rush ability, and expect him to be an impact as a 3-4 DE in the pros.

this is a very good point - although i don't share your optimism about brodie croyle.

the same guys that are willing to offer cassel a pardon because he "has no o-line and no weapons" ......., don't offer the same convenient excuse to croyle.

He is and will be a loser for the remainder of the season,, nothing personal,, just a fact from where I sit.. AND you're right on every count as to Pioli's major moves.. To go further I'm not sure Haley will be much of a head coach when he keeps giving the other teams offense good field position with his dumb coaching mistakes, going for it on 4th and one today, the on side kicks early in the game on 2 other occasions, its no different than a turn over.. He's a hypocrite for calling out guys for turnovers when he makes bad decisions like the one today.

I am asking an honest question. Are you telling me that he is the reason for the sacks and not our offensive line??? IMO, we might have the worst O-Line in football. I am not saying Cassel is manning or Brady. But he sure isnt JaMarcus Russell either.

He hasnt been given the opportunity?? He was given three chances and everytime he couldnt survive some normal NFL hits. And again he was injury prone in High School, and at Alabama. There is no doubt of Croyles arm. But at this point he has Accuracy issues. As Cassel had today. I think you have a batter chance of Croyle and Cassell being backups than Croyle being the franchise QB here. Just an opinion. I am just as frustrated as you are. I am sick of our sports teams being a laughing stock of their Respective leagues. I am also sik of seeing Arrowhead empty at the end of games. Its just sickening.

Yes he is, at least he is a contributing factor.. Cassel was sacked over 40 times last year at New England which led the league,, this is a glaring indicator he is slow getting the ball out of his hands. Makes me wanna call him grandpa he is so slow and his numbers today I'm willing to bet were close to Russell's worst game this season. A 25.3 rating is as bad as it gets, a freshman college QB could do better..

Gawd,, I wish I could get the vid of those hits that put Brodie out,, they were anything but normal.. And no he wasn't given 3 chances, he played half the season in 2007 after taking over the job from Huard, the following year in 2008 he was injured in the New England game and the Tennessee game. Each time he was injured was anything but normal unless you think having one 300 lb lineman hitting you high while another has your legs from on the ground twisting you like a cork screw thus blowing his knee out. The only time Croyle was injured that could even be considered "normal" was his attempt to make a tackle after throwing an interception..

YOu are telling me our O-Line isnt awful???? We cant run the ball, There have been times that The D-Lineman has almost took the handoff from Cassel, and we are the worst in the NFL at 3rd and 1 conversions. I would say that is poor O-Line play.
