The only team that made a huge starting pitcher move for the push was the Phillies. Cliff Lee. I thought at the time they were the team to beat in the NL. What if the Rockies or Dodgers had made that move? The NL teams are evenly matched, unlike the AL where the Yankees have dominated. The Dodgers and Rockies advance if they had gone out and acquired Cliff Lee.

Eh. Woulda, shoulda, coulda. . . you never know what *might* have happened. Perhaps you are right; who's to say. But even with a perfect pitching staff, you still have to score runs to win games. When the team goes into a collective offensive slump and/or continually fails in clutch situations, leaving the bases loaded time and time again, even having Cliff Lee couldn't help 'em.

I still think the Rockies would be in the World Series right now if DLR could have pitched the home game instead of Hammel. I also think they would have won that game if they pitched Marquis instead of Hammel. Oh well, that is ancient history.

No... I think that if the Phillies didn't have Lee in that series and we had him instead that we would have AT LEAST made it to the NLCS. I've come to disdain big money moves, since the Rockies never make them mid-season. Every time I see a $10 million trade headline on ESPN I cringe, hoping that its not in the NL West... cause I know it won't be the Rockies getting it.
