Poor baserunning; lack of clutch hitting .....

.... the Rockies missed their cleanup hitter (Holliday) and sure didn't need Street.

... Tulo is no Jeter.

Clearly you have not been watching any Rockies games this season. They obviously did not miss Matt Holliday at all, and as for Huston Street?? The Rockies would not even have been playing this game tonight if it were not for that guy! Get your facts straight and actually try thinking before you post.

sure Tulo isn't Jeter.. no one else is. He's arguably one of the best Short Stops in the NL..

Umm. . . we don't want Jeter. Tulo ROCKS. His defense at SS is a thing of beauty. Clearly you are not even slightly familiar with it, so don't bother commenting or posting until you have something intelligent to say.

Yankee fan here and, yes, Tulowitzski really seemed to struggle at the plate in key moments during the NLDS. I felt very badly for Colorado yesterday as I watched the Phillies come back to win. I was especially happy for Jason Giambi, who got a clutch go-ahead hit.

I think you've confused Tulo with Rollins. Tulo is the SS who was actually productive in this series. He may not be Jeter, but I'll take him over Rollins or any othe shortstop in the league any day!

really? .... so you disagree? ...... take a look at what Tom Verducci of Sports Illustrated has to say about Tulowitzki:

I'm not sure how to break this to you, but there is not one person at S.I. or ESPN that knows ANYTHING about baseball unless it involves the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Cubs, White Sox, Dodgers or Angels. Keep in mind the Verducci et al predicted the Rox to finish at or near the bottom of the N.L. West at the beginning of the season and were insisting as late as mid-September that the Rox would fold and fail to reach the playoffs. Most of these so called experts probably haven't seen Tulo play half a dozen times. Most of these guys still think that Coors Field is a tiny bandbox that yields seven home runs per inning. Curiously, nobody has yet seemed to make issue of the fact that balls are flying out of the new Yankees Stadium like they just smelled a New York City cab driver.

Incidentally, Verducci's criticism of Tulo was of his overall play in the series, not a particularly harsh judgement of him as a ballplayer, and the Rox would not have reached the NLDS without his contributions. In essense, rather than advising us to read what Verducci said, I might suggest that YOU go back and read what he said

Tulo had the third highest VORP out of any SS in the league. He is awesome. His VORP might have been a little lower than Jeter's, but don't forget Tulo had a very slow start and he's much better than Jeter defensively (jeter isn't even the best SS on his own team). Tulo has always performed well under any situation. Just because he got out in a couple high profile at bats doesn't take away from his great season and his awesome future. I don't know if you're a Rockies fan, but he's by far the Rockies best player. He's 10th best in all of MLB in VORP (for position players.) This includes the slow start. He's a future MVP as long as the Rox keep being competitive and as long as the East Coast biased voters don't prevent him from getting it. (It's gonna be hard for a Rockie to ever get the MVP just because the voters will attribute good stats to Coors Field effect even though it's not nearly as drastic as it used to be (Remember Holliday, Burkes, Bichette and Galaragga getting no love from the voters.)

That MVP stuff was a digression, but the fact remains that Tulo is awesome and even if you haven't seen him play, a little research will tell you he is one of the best young players in the league.

The only problem with Tulo & Street is they tried to do too much. Troy was trying to win the game with one swing and Huston wasn't going after the batter. Without either of them the Rockies are never in the postseason.

So Tulo didnt do so hot in the series...it happens. That doesn't take away the fact that the Rockies wouldnt have gotten as far as they did if it werent for him! Tulo plays outstanding defense and he lead the team in homeruns (32) and RBI's! Tulo had 2 chances to keep the game alive and he didnt...but dont forget, he still had like 3 or 4 RBI's in the series...he didnt go hitless. P.S. just cuz his bat wasnt fully there, doesnt mean his glove wasnt. he always plays solid D - saves so many runs!

I agree with Shaggy...he tried to do too much. Next time I see him striving - he's good at learning from his mistakes :) i have faith in him

Is Tulo really that good tho? Yeah he plays well during the season and is a big reason the rockies made it to the playoffs blah blah blah. But what happens when he gets into the playoffs? He pretty much disappears. Since when did just showing up win anybody championships? Why is everyone so happy with just getting to the playoffs and losing in the first round? The goal of a franchise should be to win the World Series and everything short of that is a disappointment. A career .211 BA in the playoffs from the #4 spot is not going to get it done.

To be fair to the OP I do agree somewhat with his view on Street being no help, while we could have possible used an extra bat. Though Holliday didn't do much for the Cards. So...

Alex Rodriguez should be banned from the hall of fame.
