Lackey certainly has a lot to prove...but alas he doesnt appear to have the kind of grit and professional pride to strive for such lofty goals and being able to "show 'em they were all wrong about him"...
he is suspect #1 A when discussions arise about leftover clubhouse cancers and more likely misses his regular chicken n beer brigade sessions in the midst of games....
should he demonstrate any change of attitude and demeanor which could in any way lead to him becoming an effective pitcher I would be inclined to credit John Farrell for his efforts to that end....
in addition, should he show any signs of his past public disrespect for his skipper and team mates he MUST be promptly put in his place by Farrell-yes publically in the same way that Girardi handled Posada's little tantrums a few years ago...
all that said ...I still suspect the sox would trade him and his hefty contract for a bag of used practice balls if anyone were dumb enough to offer... (hello Dodgers?) :)
