    • It's official, I want BV fired.

Just to watch you all struggle for excuses as to why the team is still a joke. Pffft, BV is too good for this organization.

If any of you think firing the manager will:

- Change the chemistry of a team that quit on the Beloved Tito.
- Rid the roster of the "Boy Wonder's" albatross contracts.
- Prevent nearly an entire roster from hurting their vajayjays & going on the DL.
- Fix the s*ckiness of Beckett & Lester.
- Rebuild the farm with good young pitchers.
- Tell the trainers FU when they demand him not to use a player.
- Correct the attitudes of self-righteous players that think they're the above the team.

...You're deluded. What would really change is:

- The new manager would be much better at kissing the FO's cheex.
- The unconcerned under-performers will never be "called out" or "offended" EVER again.
- The players will ALWAYS get their way, 100 % of the time.
- Players that BV pushed for since ST like Middlebrooks, Ciriaco, Aviles, & Morales wouldn't be producing like they have, or would be in AAA.
- They'll relapse back to being drunk during games.
- The bullpen will be worse.

When BV is gone and the Red Sox are still terrible, blame will fall on the 3 Stooges in Ownership. When they're gone, you'll all blame the bat boys, ball girls, and beer vendors. It will be absolutely comical.

Whether he is fired as a scapegoat like Tito was, or resigns, this team will still be made up of spoiled, over-paid, under-performing, crybaby divas that lose, and don't make the playoffs... Like they have been for YEARS. Then you will all finally regret the days & hours you wasted on the internet, whining about "FIRING BV". You will never get that time back!

Firing the manager will do SQUAT to fix the Red Sox... even less than firing Tito did, but it's going to be hilarious to see more posters on this forum drown themselves in excuses & naivete.

Agreed. Honestly, is there even a manager available that would fit, or even a manager that wants to come to Boston?

I doubt it. The team & FO turned their backs on their best friend, the loyal & beloved Tito Francona. So, who could possibly succeed as manager here? Probably no one.

But the BV haters have all the answers, apparently. Tony Pena! John Farrell! Brad Mills! Gene Lamont! Jason Varitek! Tim Wakefield! Like any of those guys would make a difference.

We're going to keep firing managers until the players decide to play like a championship team.

6 years & 8 managers from now when that happens, there will be countless posts here like "Omg, see _____ was the answer! I told you Bobby should have been fired!"

Lma0.

Personally I hope they work out an extension in the off season with BV!

Real people who know the ins and outs of baseball know that the problem is not the manager. It's this group of odd ball talent we call the Red Sox thats the issue. The manager cry baby witch hunters are all ignorant fools!

"Personally I hope they work out an extension in the off season with BV! "

You know... That would at least show the divas in the clubhouse that BV isn't just some transitional manager that they can walk all over. Maybe if BV was signed for 5 years instead of 2, the "players" would quit b*tching, realize that he's here to stay, accept & respect him, and just play baseball!

L M A O

Feeling a bit depressed, I suspect.

The handful of those you persuade to believe Valentine was the right choice, only to turn around and suggest the "diva" players are responsible is sufficient evidence to illustrate you don't know squat about today's MLB players and how they're managed.

Valentine is an outright failure.

Tough boy Bobby has alienated the clubhouse - great manager, right?

Revel in your Don Quixote like effort!

This is going from bad to worse. A very bad PR nightmare. I don't see how they can bring him back next year. The problem is BV will open his mouth and insert foot after he is let go and the PR nightmare will get even worse.

I'm hoping very much that he goes out guns blazing...then maybe we'll get the nuclear winter we should have had last year...

That post was about as fictitious as Captain Kangaroo and Colonel Sanders.

If anyone alienated the clubhouse, it was the Beloved & Loyal Tito in September... because the Red Sox have been THAT SAME TEAM this year. Hmmm, what did Tito do to make these ballplayers into self-righteous, self-serving, & disingenuous creatures? Oh wait, it must have been Bobby Valentine!

Comical!

I say that he COULD be the right choice. Meanwhile, bitter & agenda-driven haters like you, wanted him fired before he was even hired, and continue to cheer for Red Sox failure just to say "SEE. TOLD YOU SO"! Talk about rational thinking, psssssh.

Your bias is as thick as peanut butter, and I hope it's as obvious to the readers of this thread as it is to me!

If "Best Friend Tito" and "Mean Bully Bobby" can't get the respect of the clubhouse, who will?

Abe Lincoln for Red Sox Manager in 2013!

People that know baseball know that the #1 thing a manager does before setting his lineup is check the ARM the opposing pitcher pitches with........

FAIL, MASSIVE FAIL!

If Bobby is fired, he will spare no time before unleashing a volley of gunfire at the Red Sox organization. When the details emerge of how little he was ALLOWED to do by the FO, and how much crying was going on in the clubhouse, the "Fire Bobby" posters will all become sheeple to the BV-Machine!

BV has GOT to take some of the Blame for this mess. I Know he's been dealt from a stacked deck with all the injuries. But His decisions "Game time managing" has Not been any great shakes. (esp some of those things HE calls line-ups)

Pitching changes? He's on a different planet! And I won't even go into some of the things he says TO players and ABOUT players. (If true, they are asinine!)

You can blame the players (The career minor leaguers and AAA players that are NOT ready for ML baseball, That we had to bring up because of injuries)...You can blame the FO....Good starting point IMO.....But you have to also Blame BV!

Omg, He didn't know which arm "Liam Hendriks" threw with until he interwebbed it... How crazy! Too bad he FIXED the mistake before ANY of the OTHER coaches did. Yup, not even Tim Bogar caught the mistake, and he will become interim manager if BV is fired. Yikes!

Only the delusional Pink-Hats like TigersHomer refuse to acknowledge the fact that every manager in baseball makes mistakes - Just the humble ones admit it to the media.

TigersDentist = Glaring example of someone that listens to way toomuch WEEI, and reads too much Shaughnessy.

Hmm. His pitching changes & lineups have been a problem? Not as much as some of the other managers' pitching changes & lineups.

- One of the better bullpens in baseball, check.
- One of the better offenses in baseball, check.

And that's in spite of the fact that his bullpen has been completely makeshift and closer-less, and his lineups sometimes had 4-5 "depth" players in it.

If you think he's too mean, that's fair. I'll take mean over nice any day. Nice got run out of town after 8 loyal years. If anything, he isn't mean enough to these whiners!

Awww, shuckies guys!

John Henry: "We are not making a change in manager."

Well, maybe in the off-season the comic relief I was hoping for will ensue!

Honestly, the Blaming Bobby V stuff is getting old... At some point the players need to look in the mirror and remember they have a job to do. He's trying to do his.

That said, the guy obviously doesn't command any respect from his players.... That's on him, A good leader finds a way to bring the team together and his statements about Youk (2x world series winner) to the media were just stupid, and ill-timed to say the least...

This team just isn't magically going to perform well once BV is canned! This whole team chemistry is screwed! No balls no leadership! It starts with the biggest cancer of them all Larry Luccino! Changing managers is not even scratching the surface with the issues this team has. I say blow it up even if we finish last place the next 2 years. We need alot to happen to make things right again.

Bobby could be saved if, because of injuries, he didn't have a full roster for the full season. Additionally, should the club in the second half have a better record than the first half, he has a chance to finish his contract.

Knowing the mess over on Yawkey Way, it might well happen that Bobby finishes his 2 years.

Francona lost the club - he admitted that.

Valentine was hired to turn it around. He hasn't done it.

He's a failure - end of story.
