What do you think of Michael Bowden now that he just got DFA'd?? Guess I wrong on him too though I must admit that I'd have dumped Thomas long before Bowden.

My thought is that I kinda hope he gets claimed on waivers and goes to a team that will give him a legit shot, and he could still thrive as a middle innings guy elsewhere.

He could also pass through waivers and be relegated to Pawtucket for the remainder of the season to be the back-up to the back-up to whomever the Sox pick up off the street because they don't have any faith in Bowden.

Why would they keep Thomas over him? I don't get it.

He throws with his left arm. He can't actually get lefties out, but he can throw with his left arm, which is apparently more important.

I never thought much of Bowden myself, and thought he should have been traded years ago while he still had "potential"

Not much they've decided about Thomas so far seems to make sense. Putting him on the roster, giving him inherited runners with no outs, and now this.

we need a second LH pitcher, thus why he is on the roster until one of the pitchers on rehab return

For people that may say "He's a lefty", who cares if he is a lefty if he BLOWS?!

I've never thought that a second lefthander in the bullpen is a need.

It isn't IMO, and what difference does what hand he throws with make if he stinks?

Why do we "need" two left-handed relievers? Because the front office tells you we do? If Justin Thomas can't get out left-handers on a consistent basis does it really matter what arm he throws with?

Why do the Sox "need" two lefty relievers? Is that a rule?

When one of them can't even get lefties out, he makes no sense to be on the roster. The arm they throw with doesn't mean a thing when they aren't good.

w/e, he is most likely gone when one of our pitchers on rehab comes back
