Discussion...

THIS:

Yankee fans are enthusiastically Happy about Winning the World Series

OR

THAT:

Yankee fans are happy that their team won the World Series so they can shut up the Red Sox Fans?

How about the notion that Yankee fans don't appreciate the WS win. Look on the Yankee's board. Still a surprising number of threads that involve the Red Sox. Very few that are dealing with the actual World Series win.

Is it being taken for granted? No, its that the team met the high expectation that they win. Fans expected no less. The goal was met. They can save some embarassment from us Sox Fans. It seems like the WS win just gives then solutions to the arguments that the Sox won 2 WS in the decade and the Yankees just spend, spend, spend with nothing to show for it.

I don't know, but that's a pretty good summation of why the Yankees are a joyless enterprise.

agree, just think fan base would have deteriorated if the would have went a few more years without a ws win... would have got rid of the trolls and had true yankee fans to debate with.

Très bon !

(It's good to learn another language, even if it's only French.)

Now you're taking swipes at la belle langue de l'amour AND Audrey H., all in the same post????????

I understand, though. I know you're still upset that the Giants didn't win the Series. Don't pick on Audrey, though.

Audrey Hepburn était Belge, non française.

And Italiano is the true "lingua di amore"!!!

(And it is Truman Capote, that should be insulted.)

I wasn't either, but I still took four years of it (2 years Junior High and 2 years High School) and three years of Latin... they both came in a little handy when I was living in Europe, too.

It's THIS. Nobody here has been talking or even thinking about the Red Sox. Some were talking or thinking about the Mets, but that's about it.

Since when are these message boards an indicator of anything in the real world? Take it from someone who lives here, it's about the Yankees.

Well, in 7th and 8th Grades I had to take it... then I was just stupid enough to take two more years of it in High School.

I would have preferred Spanish instead, but they didn't offer that to 7th and 8th Graders when I was a kid in Massachusetts (and Italian or German would have been the best of all).

Well, if nothing else, you will be able to read the street signs if you ever travel to Montréal.
