Cited for possession...tsk tsk.

It's high time this guy was caught.

cited? since when do you get "cited" for possession?

So, what is your point?

Uh, what do you think a citation is? When you receive one, you've been cited.

no one gets a warning for drug possession , you get what's called arrested

A citation is not a warning. And you don't ALWAYS get arrested for drug possession.

a citation is not an arrest, and you will be arrested for drug possession if its by law a specific amount. I don't care if he did, does, or will get arrested for it, pointless thread

A citation can be an arrest, a desk appearance ticket, a traffic ticket etc. It's a CHARGE. Go ahead, check on it.

Also, like I JUST said you may not get arrested for drug possession. Which is usually based on the AMOUNT. But, I've let people go and haven't 'cited' them for anything after finding drugs. It can happen.

He looks JUST like the kid from Dazed and Confused … I'm surprised that you found this surprising…

See, it's his doppelgänger……

The 3.3 grams he had was not an arresting amount according to the Washington state trooper that busted him for 74 in a 60 MPH zone in his Benz. That's why he was "only" cited and has a $122.oo speeding ticket at the moment……

And? That's exactly what I'm saying, if it wasn't an arrestable offense, who cares? The citation is pointless since all he got was a fine that's worth a penny to him. Why this pointless thread to begin with? I said originally that a citation is not an arrest.

"no one gets a warning for drug possession"

A warning is not not a citation. Regardless he was cited for having weed on him. It's news and worthy of a post as he's using illegal drugs. How could you not think this is worth mentioning?

yeah a desk appearance ticket is an arrest, but more administrative than anything, of course if you don't show up to court they will officially arrest you, but by and large citations are not arrests, and in this case was not an arrest since he didn't have the minimum possessed by law to warrant an arrest.

Ok?

Where are you going with this?

He possessed some pot and was cited for it and it's worthy of a whole thread on a red sox forum? I don't see the big deal, this thread has been nothing but bickering, notice how we aren't talking about his plight or anything interesting or baseball related, just talking about what is or isn't a citation... so it's not a warning, who cares? You're talking semantics, his fine is a joke too, like 120 bucks is really going to make him think twice.

A fine is a fine it's not based on what your income is, it's based on the offense. He hasn't received a fine for the pot possession yet, either.

Anyway it is worth mentioning that a MLB player was caught with illegal drugs. Is it worth mentioning on foxsports.com that Joba's mom was arrested for possession of Meth with intent to sell?

In my opinion neither is newsworthy in the broader sense, I don't see famous people doing illegal acts as more newsworty than anyone else..... if the san fran pitcher was your average joe shmo it wouldn't even be in the news since it's not a headliner that somone is fined and caught with smoking a joint, and as far as joba's mom being in the news, it is newsworthy even if she wasn't his mom since she intended to sell meth and was charged with a crime for that matter. Though fox news only carried the story because it was joba's mom , but nonetheless is news in a public awareness sense

You are aware that this thread was started by a troll (very possibly Mr. Bean), right? It should never be taken seriously.

In many states - like the Commonwealth of Massachusetts - simple possession of Ganja is a non-arrestable offense. As in citation. What dont you get? I smell bacon....
