I really want to see the red sox get Felix Hernandez or John Lackey. That is a must and then get another big bat. If we expect the red sox to compete, we need to sign a couple big name players.

What we need? A new crystal ball would be good, don't you think?

If you think King Felix or Lackey are what we need the most then you, just like your crystal ball, have a screw lose...except in the crystal balls case it has a crack in it...

Why not start making plans for a new stadium. They have to find some ways of bringing newere revenue streams and for what the NYY will continue to spend, they are going to have to make more money if they want an on field product that can seriously compete and win a championship and keep their best players.

I am serious, a new stadium, why should New York always get the glory???

Our biggest need is a big bat, hopefully Adrian Gonzalez

I think you are completely forgetting Jason Bay and his 36 HR, 119 RBI's & 103 RUNS. He was a huge part of your offense.

The Sox need a quality number 3 or 4 hitter. Bay is a good number 5 or 6, but nothing more……

Of course you're right. All we REALLY need is a healthy Tim Wakefield. And OF COURSE both Lowell and Papi will rebound to their 2007 form.

Adrian Gonzalez must be a priority, and they must sign Jason Bay or Matt Holliday to have any hope of competing with the Yankees next year.

Hey Drew. Getting Felix or Lackey would be nice! I am thinking the M's won't give up Felix and Lackey is more attainable because he's a free agent. Of course that means having to spend money and we know how much the Sox love doing that (lol.)

I think getting Matt Holliday is a must. He's got a very good bat, great defense and think he's even better than Jason Bay. I also think we need to ship Ortiz and his useless bat out of here and get a DH that can actually hit (Matsui, Vlad, etc.)

Definitely pick up VMart and Gonzo's options, tell Varitek to get lost and pick up another reliever to solidy the bullpen. Fernando Rodney would be great. As for Tek, replace him with Rod Barajas or Jose Molina.

If Sox can't get Lackey, make another run at Halliday. I think we need another ace as Beckett just got plain lazy in August and September. It's time to put up or shut up.

Plus I think it be neat if we had two guys on the same team with the last names Halliday and Holliday.

Do you really think that NY is making most of their money off of the new stadium? They make most of their money off of the YES network, and there's really no way the Sox can compete with that. Sure the Sox have NESN, but they don't have the population that the NY area has so there's no way they can generate as much revenue with NESN as the Yankees do with YES.

The big question is whether the Red Sox are going to be proactive this winter or go the way of the cheap reclamation low risk high reward mantra that proved so disastrous this past season. Henry has turned into a cheap tightwad and it is very problematical if he is going to open his wallet this winter and get us the players we need. Either that, or we need to make a big trade or two if we want to compete with the Yankees next season. They bought gold with CC, AJ and Tex while we got garbage with Smeltz, Green, Pennyless, Baldelli and whoever else we scraped off the bottom of the barrel. First and foremost we need to resign Jason Bay because there is no one out there who can take his place on the FA market, and if some are saying Matt Holliday, keep in mind that Scott Boras is his agent and he is toxic and has always been toxic to the Red Sox, and, secondly, last year in half a season in the AL Holliday was less than brilliant, hitting poorly and showing very little power for Oakland.

Epstein has to get moving and fast, and getting Hermida is certainly not a very positive step in the right direction.

Yes, he changed his "JudgeTED" name to this one... I can not figure out what "River a hammer of God" is supposed to mean, though. Maybe it is some kind of reference to Jesus, as he was a carpenter...
