What would you guys think about a Dempster reunion? The Cubs are ready to deal him.

We don't need him. our starting pitching is doing just fine. and if we got him who would be removed and how that effect our great Bullpen.

I just don't think he is worth the risk.

I couldn't stand Dempster when he pitched for the Reds years ago. We got him
from the Expos I believe and he was dreadful. Since then he's become quite a
pitcher and fulfilled his promise as a major leaguer. Imagine a staff with him being
added to what we have already. The Reds already have nice pitching but no team
has enough pitching. The jury is still out on Latos being poductive and Leake has
looked both good and bad. I say go for him and give the Cubbies some minor league
talent. How does Gregouris and that 1st baseman in Louisville sound????

Clearly releasing Dempster after his TJ surgery and rehab was one of the worst decisions any Reds FO ever made. But I think he'd be too expensive now. I don't think we have enough chips anyway to bring a top SP here. They are just too much in demand. I'm thinking along the lines of just emergency help, like Arrieta I've mentioned or similar. A younger guy who could maybe win almost half his starts and stored in AAA until needed.

Would Pedro Villarreal be another injury option ?? Looks like he's the only starter on the bats roster thats on the Reds 40 man unless I missed someone.

and theoritically there's always Chapman...but you'd probably be ruining the whole dichotomy of the bullpen we have..
