Just needed to talk to someone. I spent 6 hours in the emergency room yesterday
and was diagnosed with a kidney stone which I am trying to pass tonight.
This is the most pain I have ever been in. Thank god for for the drugs they gave me in the ER yesterday and now taking oxycodone. Pain comes in waves and then lets up, I am
hoping to pas the stone any moment. Just had to vent

Good luck RLS11. I have heard that is painful. My exwife had one and it made here have like a seizure. I rushed her to the hospital and thats what they found. Hopefully you pass it soon.

I had a guy tell me that he drinks beer quickly and holds it as long as he can before urinating. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. It's the only time he drinks. I'm guessing water may work just as well. Get better quick friend.

I've heard it's awful. I had friends who had them. They got some sort of sonic treatment first to vibrate them into oblivion or something but it didn't work on the wife. She said the whole thing was worse than childbirth.

You'll get through this. Be calm and strong if you can.

I had one back when I was like 20 or 21. It ,<sucks, it hurts, but when it starts to pass don't be easy

with it. Fight it out, I know you're hurting man, good luck. PS. If the pain gets rough chew you're

pills and they'll work quicker.

Thx guys... it's a scary feeling but it's going to be fine
as soon as it's over. I am drinking lemon juice in water and
tablespoons of olive oil which is supposed to help the stone along.

So you are saying bear down and try to push it out or to try
not to let it come out

Been there multiple times. Unreal pain. Best solution for me was heavy drug use and sleep. If you stay awake, you are just tensed up. For me, the relaxation of sleeping opened it up and it passed.

Sitting in a hot tub of water helped me relieve the spasms for a while.

I'm with you, brother. Although I've never had a kidney stone, I have Crohn's disease and sometimes it hurts just feeling something move inside you. Hope everything goes OK.

Been there, done that. It's overrated.

Good luck, pal. The good news is it's only pain. You can't really do any real damage, so just use mind over matter techniques and do what has to be done.

Really? Am I wrong? You're the doc. I'm just a kindly old victim of the same condition.

About not doing any damage. A complete obstruction is considered at the very least, an urgent condition that requires surgical intervention. BTW, I had a kidney stone too.
