From MLBTRADERUMORS

"The Brewers declined their $3.7MM club option on reliever David Weathers, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy (via Twitter). They'll pay a $400K buyout instead. While Weathers projects as a Type B free agent, an arbitration offer is highly unlikely. The Brewers acquired Weathers from the Reds in August for cash.

Weathers, 40, posted a 3.92 ERA in 62 innings this year. His peripherals were pretty bad - 5.4 K/9, 4.1 BB/9, 1.5 HR/9."

Who is for bringing back Ole Stormy to the Reds? He would be a good addition to the bullpen, provides great leadership, would be very valuable should Coco get traded.

Where do I go to sign up?

Rolen, Gomes and Weathers on the same team. No more show boating from Phillips. And Dusty better watch his step, too.

Someday Stormy will be a manager if that's what he wants to do. I'd like to see that happen with the Reds. He is a guy who knows whats important in baseball <winning> and I know he knows how to lead.

Oh I agree he is a competitor, maybe his stuff isn't as good as it was, but he still can bring a lot to the table IMO.

Right. 40-50 more pounds and Stormy will be a shoe in for Dusty's job.

I wouldn't even think about Weathers if I were the Reds.....Jocketty moved him for basically nothing so why would they want him back....

I think the Reds have decided to go in a different direction which is UP instead of sideways with players like Weathers...

no on Stormey

A big no to Stormy. A great guy who is now past his prime,
but got the most out of his ability.

He'd make a good Tom Hume in the BP instead of Juan "Porky" Lopez. Nothing against Lopez, but I don't know who he is, and frankly I've never even seen him on the pregame with Chris Welsh. I can't remember what the segment is called??????

No love for the Storm Trooper? I guess you haven't gotten over the Pujols grand salami yet. Remember the 30 plus save season?

I wouldnt bring him back as a pitcher. Maybe as a bullpen coach. I think he knows the game and has knowledge of what it takes to pitch, he never had all of the ability. I think he could pass on knowledge from a coaching role though.
