JC, it is capitalism. Right? Sure, Arod is over paid. You know why? He doesn't put butts in the seats. You know who was not overpaid? Barry Bonds. Not only did he dominate the league, he put butts in the seats. Right now, Albert is the man who is worth is money. Arod is overpaid simply because he paid more than Albert, if you get my drift.

Not overpaid.....because Kate Hudson will marry him.....then divorce him .....and get half of all his money!

That very well may happen, and even though I see Aroid as not only an overpaid cheater, but overrated as well, I still would still not wish losing half of everything on anyone.....even Aroid.....

been there, done that....and even had to give her the t-shirt.

I can't totally agree with you there. Wins puts fans in the seats, not just players. One player putting fans in the seats is just a poor excuse from teams to keep them from building winners. Bonds was his most popular when the Giants were great teams and in the playoffs. Give me a Pete Rose anyday who will at least give you your money's worth.

The Rangers were relieved of their previous A-Fraud payments when A-Roid opted out of his last contract, as it was part of that contractual agreement.

What a relief that must be....

I remember the owner of the Rangers stating that Aroid should just buy the team with his 250 million because his deal was worth more than the entire team at the time.

I'm just hoping that the BIG money doesn't eventually kill the game....It just doesn't seem sustainable.....

I mean look, the Yankees still had a payroll over 200 million dollars this season...The game is influenced by money at almost every turn.........I think that there may actually be a HUGE wall around one of them, and it could come as quickly as the end of next year.

Take the Reds.....they were way down last year at home, 250 thousand or so down.....what happens to the Reds if they drop another 200 thousand this season, or more? DISASTER is what happens...

The declines in attendance are not good. I'm just hoping that all ML teams can maintain and not continue to lose customers.....2010 will be a big year for several teams, and baseball as a whole...

Tom Hicks bought the Rangers in 1998 for $250M.

Nothing will change if the fans don't force it to happen.

I was speaking about revenue on the road, which also adds to the teams coffers. Bonds was a huge attraction, as was Rose.

It's still the team that makes the real difference, as you know. I always wanted to watch the Dodgers as a kid.
