Molina should be a coach. He's too old to play well. But back to the subject of this thread, many posters don't know the potential of Stanton. He's hit 93 HRs in the bigs while through 22 years of age. The only player in baseball history to surpass this total is A-Rod who hit 106 before his 23rd birthday. If Stanton wasn't on the DL for part of 2011, he would have beat A-rod's record.
Stanton is a super star in the making. The Marlins covet pitching and the Rays have pitching in abundance. Even the trade that gave up Shields and Davis, got young pitchers in return, in addition to Meyers.
The Marlins are rebuilding and need young pitching. Now is the time for the Rays to get Stanton. The Rays will NEVER have an opportunity to get an offensive power player of this quality again.
