Now that Upton is gone, Anderson is an automatic shoe in. He's groomed for this position CF.
Stu, Andy, why are you lookin elsewhere? The money's here at home!!!!
The board won't let ya off without an explaination, otherwise it'll go on all season in 2013
and alot of us pay season tickets too!!!
That's a bright way of goin about it.
I can't figure out not giving him even an opportunity in ST.
From what I've read, he's not a disturbing influence in the clubhouse and his command of the English language is very broken so that rules out a confrontation with the Zim.
As far as I know, the Zim has no command of the Spanish language either so if they exchanged jabs nobody could understand what the other one was saying anyway.
Did you hear him say it too trop? Phonier than an ole' 'two dollar bill'!
Get him in the interview room Trooper, break him like a 'bad' habit!
Yea alright, first I gotta warm up a new user-name! lol
Nooo! It was after a game and either Kalas or some gal asked him the question about Anderson and that was his response. I know others have heard it cause I've posted it before on the board and they've responded with confirmation. It happened early last season or late '011'.
Yea and when Joe blurted it out I wondered if I was hearin this right because keeping a player down simply because of his 'broken English' is just plain dumb! He can be 'slick' in his remarks concerning screw-ups on the field most of the time but he screwed this interview all up.
I see now where the linguistic paradox lies.
It's awfully difficult to translate into Cuban, "it is much much better to strikeout than to hit into a double-play". Heck, even Molina will have problems translating that. Or Sean Rodriguez.
As you were.
Nothing to see here.
Gotta love the Rays! Really---from top to bottom, it is certainly unique. There's something to be said about a team that scrapes the bottom of the barrel (exceptions noted) year after year and drives the prima donnas of the league crazy.
The broken English theory doesn't hold water to me.
Coach is very involved with the hispanic community in his hometown so it can be taken for granted that he's heard worse there than broken English.
It's not like Dave Martinez cannot communicate with Anderson. Plus, if he grows the beard, it will remind Anderson of Fidel. That should make for some quick learnin'.
Funny starmand, but your right- with Davey, interpretation shouldn't be a cognitive in the matter which leads me back to Joe and the problems on a personal plane.
If it comes down to personal 'bickering' then unfortunately its one way to destroy a team.
