For Joe to get Joel Peralta right back on the mound after the horse bleep that went on the night before is the kind of thing that should make us all proud that Joe Maddon is the manager of our baseball club. Forget the shifts. Forget the line-up shuffles. Forget the things most people outside of the Tampa Bay area associate Joe Maddon with. Joe Maddon's greatest strength is his relationship with his players. He will go thru a brick wall for them and they feel the same way about Joe. And for Joel to get right back on the horse. For Joe to put him right back on the horse was pretty special stuff. The Rays lost a Wednesday game 3-2 on a lazy June evening. But when they walked back to the clubhouse they were winners. And that togetherness is why this team has Game 162's. Well Done....

Yep, for my money, this was the best decision Joe Maddon has made as manager of the rays

Hopefully Peralta gets another appearance today. I love seeing great pitchers when they are mad!

Strasburg certainly missed his pine tar. What was it, he gave up more walks in that game than in his last six games combined?

As everyone knows, I have had my issues with the way that Maddon manages in-game. But I have always said that I have no problem with him personally and would love to have him as my next door neighbor. Sorry Smitty...lol.

This was one of his finest moments as manager here. There are unwritten rules to the game and Davey crossed the line. Especially since it was one of his former players. Davey looks like a huge hypocrite because he had no problem with Peralta doing it as a Nat. And not to mention how the coach that actually called Peralta on it was someone that he considered to be a personal friend and mentor.

Although, I do think that it was quite funny when Johnson called Joe "the guru". Ha ha!

What is it about former Met managers (Valentine and Johnson)? These are seasoned managers who know how the game is played. But I think they feel the need to one-up Joe. Maybe it's insecurity on their part. Or maybe they look at themselves as old school and somehow Joe is changing the game. What the Nationals did to Joel Peralta was not "Old School". To fink out a player who put his career in their hands and trusted the Nationals and gave them his all is really disgusting. If Jewett was the fink he should feel as low as a coach can feel. It's not the pine tar. It's the trust. The unwritten rules. I could see why the Nationals are P.O.'d. Joel Peralta is a fine reliever. What goes around comes around. Davey Johnson and Bobby Valentine the baseball gods are watching...

I'm real glad to see that Maddon did not have one of his pitchers intentionally throw at one of the Nats hitters. This fight is now between Johnson and Maddon and it would have been a real bush league and cowardly act for Joe if a pitcher throws at a Nats hitter, so i'm glad to see he didn't stoop so low and do that.
