Let his pitcher hit then pinched ran for him after he gets a hit? I'm not making fun of it, I think it's typical Joe and as it turned out once again good for him...Even with matsui,Scott,Lobaton,SRod,thompson and whomever on the bench, there was no guarantee they would have got a hit..But its like Joe has a crytal ball and he knew davis would get a hit..Plus he did not burn up Davis and he could pitch again today..Maybe no other manager would do that But Joe is not anyother manager..When it works...a hits a hit,a wins a win...Thats our Joe.

Davis would have pitched the next inning if he made out. The analysis changed when he got on base.

Any other "normal" manager would have pinch hit for Davis.... Joe was just rewarding him for a good pitching job...as all these pitchers absolutely love to hit. Wade was happy with the hit and probably relieved by not having to run the bases....
