    • Will Drew Sutton be this year's Sam Fuld??

Drew Sutton has been a real shot in the arm for the Rays this season. And when it seemed like it was the darkest hour for the Rays Drew brought back memories of Sam Fuld with a heroic game.
And maybe this is the story of the Tampa Bay Rays. The most unlikely heroes always stand tall when they put on a Rays jersey. Joe gives them a chance and Rays fans always get rewarded. And maybe these unlikelys can hold it together another couple of weeks until the Rays can get back to 8 cylinders.... Dan Johnson is smiling somewhere...

He will be lucky to still be around when Longo comes back..

I like him coming off the bench. When Fuld gets back I like him to pinch run late in the games. Neither one is a player that can have long term success.

It's either him or Will Rhymes and based on the last 2 nights it looks like Will might stay. Although when Kepp and Longo come back both guys might go down... But that doesn't take away the fine job Drew Sutton has done...

Its gonna seem like a shame because they have done a great job..But if Sam,Longo and Kep come back there might just be room for one and not much PT....Hope they stay in the organization..

Pray tell ... what does Fuld coming back and Sutton pinch-running late in a game have to do with each other ???

And ... over 30 yards ... Fuld (and Johnson and Jennings) is clearly among the fastest ... if not THE fastest ... out-of-the-box runner on the team ... and no one would pinch-run Sutton for Fuld unless Fuld was somehow incapacitated.

???

Neither player is a starter on any winning team. Sutton would be a good pinch hitter. Fuld can pinch run for Scott etc late in a game. Back to reading 101.

Pinch runners, huh. This team has more than its fair share of guys who'd fit that bill. If an infielder becomes expendable when Longoria returns, let's hope it's Pena. This "good clubhouse guy" mantra goes only so far. Add to it Zobrist's "Mendoza Line" numbers, and the right side of the infield would have trouble hooking on in AA ball.

Exactly when Longo comes back, no more Fulds, Rhymes, or Suttons. We need to march out our best line up every night and make it consistent. Ejohnson has actually had a couple of big hits, but has more than made up for those with gaffes in the field. We need a consistent line up at the plate and more importantly in the field!
