It's nice that the Rays have kept ticket prices reasonable. It is hard to take a family to most pro sporting events. This makes it possible. Thanks RFO.

I completely agree. This is one decision the ownership has made that everyone can agree on. I've taken my 4 1/2 year old son to Tropicana, Raymond James, and the St. Pete Times Forum. The Trop is the only place he can really have a good time AND watch a great game. It's wonderful to be able to go frequently and actually not break the bank doing it. The deals for kids are outstanding, and watching all those little ones run the bases is awesome. Keep it up Rays!

You guys remember back during the seasons of old where yo could buy a ticket in the beach for 3 bucks and just move to what ever section you wanted.

I remember going to the old Sombrero and paying a scalper $5 for lower level tickets just after the game started. Sad to say, but I got tickets 8 rows back in section 122 at the Trop for $10 each late in the season. I hope that doesn't happen next year.

I remember in 2007 my brother in law came to town on a Friday and I got tickets the day before on ebay front row on the Rays dugout for $20 each to see Kaz pitch against the Yankees. I also got front row by third base for the Royals series for $10 each.

Those were fun times and it was nice to get the different views from different sections for a very modest price, but it is good to see much larger crowds for the most part.

You also still have to figure a $15-20 savings per game if you bring your own dinner, water & peanuts.

I'm always torn over the whole ebay/ craigslist deal. I really can't always afford the great seats at full retail, but I feel like I'm cheating my team somehow by not buying a full retail ticket. I know they are getting the full price regardless. It really is nice to be able to sit in different parts of the stadium. I know that next season I'm getting a partial season ticket in the Loge Box seats, they provide a great experience. I'll probably supplement the partial package with some individual tickets purchased below face if I can.

I'm curious to know what each fan's favorite place to sit is. I've tried most spots (except fieldside box, Whitney Bank, and Club 105) and I prefer the Loge Box section 107. A close second is a low row in 122, right next to the Rays dugout where they sign autographs.

I don't know what the section is named, it near beyond the right field bull-pen just in front of the foul pole. I can see myself in a highlight of Rey Sanchez's walk off homer in '04, I was the only one around there and I have been sitting there ever since.

If you ever get to sit in the Checkers Bullpen area and talk to Bobby Ramos (Bullpen Coach) & Scott Cursi (Bullpen Catcher) for a game you will have quite an exceptional ballpark experience.

Bobby is very entertaining and Scott is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

My half season tickets in the upper deck have increased 50% it appears. They were roughly $10 per game last year and now they are $15. That's a pretty big jump in the pricing level where a lot of normal (income wise) families sit. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and wait to see my invoice before I complain, maybe there will be some sort of grandfathered discount.

I believe those are single game ticket prices and have nothing to do with the multi-game plans, which should be out later.

And season tickets are always much cheaper, although I am not sure I am going to be able to keep mine this year...

No, the plan prices are out as well. Click on the season ticket link and look at the plans. The weekend half season now is over $600 for upper box. I don't think the upper full season price was much more than that last year. I realize the weekend plan includes all the concerts and stuff that draws larger crowds so it has to cost more. Nearly a 50% jump seems like a lot to me though. I'll probably be downgrading to a Saturday plan anyways. It was just a bit too much to have an entire weekend consumed by games.

My outfield seats went up $1 a game overall. Seems reasonable. It averages out to $16 a game. I can't really complain about that.

So let me see if I have this straight going to third place in being 20 games out after being in the World Series you raise prices by 40% is that the point here?

I paid an average of $15 a ticket last year and am paying an average of $16 a ticket this year. That would be a 6% increase, not 40%. So no I do not consider this to be an unreasonable increase. I have no idea what the 40% increase you are talking about.

Speaking of season tickets does anyone know if they are going to continue with the paper tickets or if they are going to the credit cards the way the Bacs have done for season tickets.
