Two questions:

1 - Should the Rangers re-sign him.

2 - Will the Rangers re-sign him.

I would re-sign him as long as his demands are ridiculous. This is pretty much the same scenario we had with GMJ.

I think Byrd is better than GMJ, so I would offer a contract close to what GMJ got.

Yeah we deffinitely need a CF. David Murphy or JuBo will NOT cut it out there, that'd be a NIGHTmare!! I'd rather see us trade Murph or Bo though... hate to see one go, but we just need a CF!! We'd need to get a superstar of Josh Hamilton Caliber for Bo, Murph wouldn't get us much of anything. I'd inquire about Gregor Blanco (for Murph) or Nate Mclouth (for Bo).

I would see if anyone would bite on Hamilton.

I don't trade Borbon, I like having speed on my team. Hopefully, his outfield defense will improve.

If you've got the dough, Matt 'Borass' Holliday should be available.

I would let Byrd walk. He's too good to be a utility outfielder, but not good enough to be a star. He's a fringe type player in my opinion and will probably demand, and get, borderline star money, i.e. 6-8 million p/y.

I don't think the Rangers re-sign Byrd.

If they don't re-sign him, the outfield defense takes a huge step backwards. We have nobody to replace him in Center.

By the way the Colts are playing I wouldn't be surprised. They're like zombies out there just barely squeaking by. I'm hoping the D can make up for the loss of Sanders, but even so it can match up with the Pats D. But can the O go step to step with the Pats O. It helps that it's in Lucas oil feild though lol. Too bad it's not the old dome though lol. Defenses now know in order to beat Peyton you have to play physical hopefully Peyton can adjust and show us a good game.

It should be a good game. They usually seem to play each other well. But I agree that the Colts haven't been playing up to their usual standard and the Patriots are finally hitting their stride on offense. I do look forward to these games though. How about those Bengals? They are starting to make a believer out of me.

I agree. Sign Cameron to a 1 year deal at 7 million. There is an article up that claims he is a better player than Jason Bay.

Byrd has terrible plate dicipline and is only a slightly above average defender. He is not as great as many make him out to be.

Let Byrd and his .329 OBP walk.

Cameron strikes out way too much. I'll take Byrd, a guy that give 110%.

Cameron is PERFECT! He couldn't play in Petco he'd fit right in with all the free swingers! /sarcasm

I'd most definately take Byrd over Cameron. It is reported in the paper here that JD is willing to trade pitching for help in the pen and a RH bat.

I like Mike Cameron alot. I agree in Byrd over Cameron. However, if Marlon flies the coop and the Rangers really need a righthanded bat from the free agent market, I could see a Mike Cameron deal unless there's some trade available that would make more sense.
