    • Phils should go after Gonzalez and DeRosa

These two free agents would fill a big need.

Gonzalez is a shutdown lefty reliever who could even close if Lidge fails. Plus it would hurt the Braves to get him

DeRosa is a gamer, solid player and would fit in nicely here. Don't know why he gets traded so much. He impresses me every time I see him. He could help spell Utley, Feliz, and Ibanez at times and be a great pinch hitter

I would like to see the Phillies get some relievers in the bullpen and maybe one or two starting pitchers. Pitching is always the top priority. I'm still pretty confident in the Phillies offense but I'll still accept a tweak possibly in the bench here and there. Let's not forget about the prospects in the minor league farm system either. Whatever happens in the offseason, I'll always be looking forward to Spring Training 2010. Go Phillies in 2010!

I agree with u on prospects. Bring Taylor up to start the season with us. He will learn a lot and maybe be a factor the second half

I agree wit you on derosa but I'm not to crazy bout Gonzalez he can get very wild at times and is a type A free agent I'd rather see fernando rodney great power arm and is a type B free agent

if we sign Gonzalez and lose our #1 pick since he is a type A free agent... not worth it!

Taylor ??? to play where, Ibanez, Victorino, Werth is there a softball short fielder I am missing here, right now Taylor is not better than any of those 3 and I see the Phillies siging Victorino and Werth to long term deals soon, at least they better.

The best possibility of when Taylor would be playing some more baseball games in the Major Leagues with the Philadelphia Phillies is probably when Raul Ibanez is in the final year of his contract which is 2011. I really don't expect the Phillies to resign him once his contract expires because of his age at the end of 2011 and that could give Taylor plenty of chances to gain more experience and become a better baseball player but who knows what happens in the future. We'll see what happens and we'll find out what the Phillies do in the offseason.

Why sign Werth to a long term deal, the guy is a great player no doubt but Taylor brings a comparable skill set and will be vastly less expensive for 6 years.

Agreed, I don't think the Phils will/should extend Werth. I like Werth, but with Taylor waiting in the wings and Brown not too far behind him, I don't think it is a good idea.

I meant to bring Taylor up to be a bench player and 4th/5th outfielder. Not to start. Unless u can trade Werth to get Halladay

Did not realize Gonzalez was Type A. I would definitely go for Rodney as well. I love power bullpen arms. Every team seems to have them except us
