    • Girardi's 3 day rest strategy doesn't look good for Pettitte

Per MLB.com, Pettitte is 4-6 with a 4.15 ERA in 14 starts on short rest.

At his age, Pettitte is the about the last pitcher you'd want to start a crucial World Series game on short rest. And it's not like Pettitte is going on 3 days rest after having faced an American league team in the ALCS--Pettitte just faced the Phillies several days ago so he's no surprise to the Phillies. actually , Girardi's 3 day rest strategy gives the Phillies excellent hitters a quick chance to adjust to any pitcher who recently shut them down. That's why they smacked AJ last night--Utley knew AJ was going to throw a first strike fastball and Utley cracked the 93 MPH pitch for the 3 run first inning home run.

The Phillies hitters make adjustments--and they will be adjust to Pettitte tomorrow night.
Maybe Pedro will struggle--but don't be surprised if the Phillies rough up Andy Pettitte early in game 6 at the new Yankee Stadium leading to a game 7

They way i look at it, the phils have 7 innings to win game 6. It is apparent they cannot defeat rivera, and he will be in for 2 innings if necessary. That said, these playoffs, Andy runs out of gas around the 6th inning on regular rest... i think the phils can get to him in the 4th or maybe 5th inning... but obviously we will see...
