A guy who went 48 from 48 in saves last season or a guy who blew a save in game 7 of the WORLD SERIES!

Rivera is a proven commodity over an extended period of time- I'd go with him against anybody- hopefully, it will not come down to this

That is funny. You are comparing one player's career highlight and the other players career lowlight, and then asking who would you prefer to have. Nevermind that fact that Rivera is also a former WS MVP. Of course anyone who knows anything would choose Rivera over Lidge. Rivera is a legend. The Phils better make sure they have the game in hand by the 9th, because teams don't take many from Rivera.

Rivera is a legend. He is the best closer baseball has ever had but Lidge gave me a world series, since I wasnt even born to see the last one this town had. Dont get me wrong if Rivera became a Philly tomorrow I would not be too upset lol

Yeah well look how many WS's Rivera has given the Yankees, but Yankee fans expect to win. Thats what will turn this organization around, when the fans expect and demand to win. That means that nobody can be complacent, like Torre got to be in NY.

You guys that say Lidge crack me up.

Rivera is the best closer EVER and IMO, still the best closer in MLB (by a wide margin).

"still the best closer in MLB (by a wide margin). "

Hoffman was better.

Overall yes, but he's looked a little shaky lately, especially if girardi has to bring him in in the 8th inning.
