"Left-hander Rich Hill, outfielder Jeff Fiorentino and catcher Guillermo Rodriguez all filed paperwork with Major League Baseball and have informed the O's that they will become free agents, a team spokesman confirmed."

We came out with a thread bout the same topic within 60 seconds of each other. Your title is a bit more interesting than mine though.

Thanks. My title was indeed better, but you offered the complete story.

When the dayum World Series terminates, things might get interesting. Godwilling.

No biggie at all. Hopefully there will not be anymore reclamation projects of Hill's caliber in our future.

I have no problem with the Hill project. We gave up essentially nothing and had a potentially high reward. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.

Lord knows we keep trying but this organizations track record from the scrap heap is not exactly what I'd call sterling.

No worries bro, if you look back at reality you'll see that Hill may not have even been our worst reclamation project. I think that honor goes to Adam Eaton.

Pie, Guthrie and Cormier were recent scrap heap guys who turned out decently.

Any notions about Noah Lowry (more scrap heap)?

I'd have been more receptive to Lowry last year than this year. He's a FA so he wouldn't be under team control like Hill would have been. I'd pass on Lowry at this point.
