    • Players On Your Team Who Have a Hall of Fame Chance

This is a thread about players on your team who you think have a chance to eventually get inducted into the Hall of Fame. You can also name non-current players who you think should have been inducted, I guess, and you can discuss other teams if you so wish. I got the idea for this thread from EdgarMartinez4HOF. (By the way, Edgar: Blf ziv wrivxgob xlnkzizyov drgs z ooznz.)

Players on the Red Sox who I think have a shot: David Ortiz, Jonathan Papelbon, Victor Martinez, Jon Lester, Clay Buchholz, Kevin Youkilis, Dustin Pedroia, Jason Bay.

Buehrle, I guess; he has an outside shot. The only other ones I can think of would be projecting 15-20 years into the future - Quentin? Beckham? Danks? - tough to say at this point, but probably not. Thome is off the team, but he's a no-brainer.

If Joe Mauer plays the way he has been for the next 10 years i'm sure he would be inducted into the HOF.

Bert Blyleven NEEDS to be in the HOF, no questions asked.

"David Ortiz"
Not now.

"Jon Lester"
I'd say Beckett before him.

"Clay Buchholz"
Seriously?

"Dustin Pedroia"
Too early to tell.

"Jason Bay"
He's not on the Red Sox.

I said who have a chance to get in eventually. Not who deserve it right now.

Roy Halladay. That's about it.

Edit: I didn't like my wording, so, uh, yeah...

Basically a revised version of yours:

Stay on track: Pedroia, Papelbon (needs to learn to pitch to stay effective), Lester

Coin-toss: Ortiz

Outside shot: Victor Martinez, Jason Bay.
