My uncle is strictly an NL guy. He has never seen Johnny Damon play really until the World Series. He just said Johnny Damon is the Pete Rose of this generation. Discuss. lol

David Ortiz is the Ty Cobb of this generation... Oh, and did I mention, Cesar Izturis is today's Babe Ruth.

Does your uncle watch the games at all or is he one of those people in most cities who doesn't pay much attention till they get far in the playoffs? Not disrespecting your uncle here but just wondering.

"One who thinks every Phils player is better then anyone on the other team type guy? Yeah I hate those people too."

Last year after the Phillies clinched he said Howard was the best player in baseball.

Tonight he said Happ is way better than Hamels and Damon is the Pete Rose of this generation.

In like September he told me Werth is better than Utley and that Werth is the best player in baseball this year.

I just don't think he knows what he is talking about.

He may like the game but I think he needs to learn who the good players are. I hope you are teaching him though.

My uncle is more stubborn than me, Wooly, and Pesky combined.

There is no way Damon is the Rose of this generation. I don't think he's much of a gambler.

Probably the closest he got. Probably not better, but I'd say at least arguable.

I love uneducated people.

One morning my dad said that Pedro Martinez would lead the Phillies to a victory in game 2. I told him that Martinez wasn't good anymore, and that 10 years ago he was one of the best. I also had zero confidence in him pitching better than Burnett. You know his argument for Martinez being good? He's a "veteran".

So i asked him, "who cares how much experience you have when you aren't any good?"
Him: "Just stop. You sound like a grade 1er who doesn't know what he's talking about."

And so the next day I went on to rub it in his face. All he said was "just stop. okay, stop it. Just stop."

I swear to god I'm not making this up. It was hilarious. Maybe at that situation I should have asked him if he proffered Adam Eaton over Rick Porcello because he's a "veteran".............

Not even close. Are you kidding me? Utley is a top 5 player in all of baseball. Werth had a career year and is a scrap heap player than ended up making something of himself for a couple of years. Utley is probably a HoFer, Werth...his career won't amount to much more than an ASG and maybe a silver slugger.

Why does he NEED to know? Why does he NEED to be taught? Jeez, Mr. "I'm Going To Force My Baseball Knowledge On People Because They NEED TO KNOW!"
