The offseason has barely started, so it's way too early to tell. It would appear that the A's are not going to have the pitching to do very much in 2009. If the Giants can add one big bat, they may be able to contend in a very weak NL West. Both teams have bright futures with strong farm systems including two of the best pitching prospect tandems in baseball: Cahill and Anderson for the A's, Alderson and Bumgarner for the Giants. The two teams grabbed, arguably, the best international prospects this summer in Michael Inoa for the A's and Rafael Rodriguez for the Giants.

Easy Question. The Giants. They've already signed three players, and it's not even the Winter Meetings yet. The were playing very good after they brought up even more of the younger guys during the last two months of the season. The question now is, what else will they do before Spring Training?

I think Oakland will finish higher in their division than San Fran will.

The Giants have great starting pitching, I think that with the young arms they have they are definitely a team on the rise. Will they break out this year? If they can hit better than last year, probably. They do need a bopper, but I dont see anyone else in that division who is going to have as good of a starting rotation as the Giants. I also learned that no matter what Oakland looks like, never count them out, if they are buying into the "system" they can be a competitor.

A's. Holliday is one of the best OF in baseball. And the Giants just stay old with Rentaria and Howry.

Saying he is one of the best OF's in baseball may be a stretch. but I do believe that the A's would be a better team.

Edgar is only 33 & they have young infielders in Frandsen, Burriss, Velez, Ochoa, Rohlinger & Bocock the future with Posey. The youth is there.

Both teams had made some key moves, and I don't think either team is done. As of right now, I think its close, but I say the A's.

Nick swisher was sweet on the A's. He was on the white sox and still liked him. Now he is on the yankees and it makes it even harder for me to like him. Why do your favorite players have to get traded to rival teams?
Does that answer your question? no
