"If the Mets had kept Chad Bradford and Darren Oliver, they don't collapse in 2007 and 2008. We could be reminiscing about the mini-dynasty of those years"
Could be. We'll never really know though.
Hopefully Alderson realizes pitching's MUCH more important than offense when it comes to winning. Alderson could easily get a very good MLB OF for Wheeler just like he got Wheeler for Beltran. Syndergaard or 1 of the other top rated pitching prospects Mets have could get a good OF too. But hopefully Alderson doesn't let any of them go.
Facts show team can win w/ above avg pitching & avg hitting. Heck -- Cincinnati won 97 gms last yr w/ above avg pitching & BELOW avg offense (Reds = 669 RS / Mets = 650 RS).
